Son of Beast the most inspected ride in Ohio

Records show that state inspectors have been called six times in the nine seasons that the Son of Beast has been open to check reports of rider injuries. That's more than any other ride in the state of Ohio. It has been six weeks since Kings Island closed Son of Beast to test the ride's safety after a woman reported the wooden roller coaster caused a blood vessel in her brain to burst in late May.

The follow up question would be how can you get blunt force trauma on any coaster?
While I am new to being a coaster geek, I don't ever remember hearing about this death before.

The ride reopened in 2007, but on July 29, the park again had to call in ODA investigators.
A 30-year-old man from Southaven, Miss., complained of "sharp back pain" after getting off Son of Beast. He died at University Hospital the next day. The Hamilton County Coroner's Office determined he had died from hemorrhagic shock from blunt impact to his torso.
According to the autopsy report by the chief deputy coroner, Ronald Jones had several pre-existing health conditions, including a protein S deficiency and neurofibrosis. He also was obese.

Hemorrhagic shock from a blunt impact to his abdomen...sounds like he got thrown so hard against the lapbar that it caused internal bleeding of an organ or a major artery or vein in the abdominal area. I don't know jack about the different protein deficiencies, but if he had a protein deficiency that was one of the proteins used to help make clotting agents, he could have even just received a weak blow to the abdomen that caused a tear somewhere and he couldn't clot right.
Or I could just be totally off on this. I just thought that was interesting...don't hear about some of these!

Protein S inhibits the formation of clots. Patients with deficiencies of protein S are more likely to develop blood clots, which is the direct opposite of excessive bleeding. Therefore this makes no medical sense.

Just don't ride SoB for a week afterwards. Those platelets may be necessary. ;)

From what I understand, the inspections were completed. Sonny was cleared but CF has not released him on the public.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

Sonny is not back up and running, and there wasn't even a bit of movement going on down there that I saw yesterday. Personally I wouldn't count on it running for the rest of the season, that way should it actually go back up, it comes as a pleasant (speaking relatively) surprise.
