Legoland California attendance up 28% with new aquarium

Merlin Entertainment Group is reporting 28% annual growth in visitors for Legoland's 57 attractions. The numbers no doubt have been bolstered by the addition of the Sea Life Aquarium with its 36 displays enclosed in a 36,000-square-foot, two-story building.

28% is a very significant number. Maybe Six Flags should look into opening aquariums next door to their struggling parks...

With a combo ticket only ten dollars more than general admission to Legoland, it's a no brainer. Pay an extra ten bucks and see the fisheys next door, or drive a half an hour south and pay fifty plus bucks a head (plus $12 parking) to get into Seaworld. I can see where a lot of families on budgets opt for this alternative. It's no wonder their attendance is up.

That's awesome! That's a neat little park that totally blew me away when we visited a few years ago. An aquarium sounds like a nice bonus! Well, it's obviously worked so far. :)

I think Six Flags should have built an aquarium next to Geagua Lake. ;)

THe morning entry rush was refered to by the staffers as the "Running of the Bulls."
