Fire or Ice??

Im going to IOA on june 30, and i dont think ill have a lot of time on my hands, so im just going to ride the coasters and spiderman.
Which side of dueling dragons is better?? Ive heard stories of the ice side being very good, but haveing a long line, while the fire was a walk-on! Is this true? Also, do the lines go slow/fast, and how many trains do they run? Thanks a lot.
Definitely the Fire!
Both sides run two trains. I think Fire is better.

I was beginning to doubt B&M inverts for some reason. That all changed once I rode FIRE. FIRE is just short of the greatest thing since sliced bread and The Force. I rode DD 14 times in one day, 5 on Ice and all the others FIRE. The only thing Ice has on Fire is more hang time off the first drop but Fire makes up for it in the Millennium-Force-esque-Magnum-Hill float time. Riding FIRE at night over and over is an experience I will never forget. Backseat, like on all coasters except The Force, is the best seat on both of the rides. The crew is pretty fast and very friendly. The wait is usually very short. Have fun. Lots of fun (you will).

I like them both, but Fire is longer. I like the airtime on Ice, but Ice has better invertions (my personal though).

All and all, ride which everyone one you like is going to be the best!

"Riding High"

The Devils are going to get buried, by an AVALANCHE! Lets get it for Bourque!

Fire is better because of the better speed and the smoothness. Ice is cool but it was a little rough in the cobra roll and jerky in the Zero-G roll. So my favorite is Fire

No, thats not true, and it's impossible too. Dueling dragons has one que line. It only separates into 2 just before loading. So, if one is a walk on, the other is a walk on. The both pretty much have the same wait after it splits up, since the GP doesn't know the difference of the two, and will just go to the one with the shorter line, making it longer and evening it out with the other... You get the point. In terms of which is better, it's a tough question. Both are very unique and have very different qualities.

Fire - Centered on intesity, non stop elements, has a great camelback, great in any seat.

Ice - Great ride, less intense than fire but stil very intense, 1 less inversion, more transition time between elements, great near castle swoop, best in the front.

You just have to ride each one to determine your personal preference. In fact, you really don't need to pick a favorite, they are both perfect tens!

skip spiderman and ride both :)
make sure it's backseat on both too. the first fly-by is really GENIUS and makes the vertical loops a yawn.
while i'm at it, make sure you ride DudleyDoright, and if you were planning on riding jurassic park, skip it and ride dudley twice!
I love that camel back on fire. Does any other inverted coaster have a camelback? They are so nice on inverteds.

What was the greatest thing BEFORE sliced bread?
"Ice - Great ride, less intense than fire but stil very intense, 1 less inversion"

NO, they have the same amount of inversions.

"I like them both, but Fire is longer"

Uh, no, they end at about the same time, and are the same height. Hende the name DUELLING Dragons.
No, actually you are incorrect. If you are riding ice, as you pull into the brake run you will be able to spot fire doing a corkskrew. That it the extra inversion of fire, and that is what makes it a little longer.

Check our database, they both have 5 inversions. Personally, I like Ice better. In the front seat you get the near miss with castle wall and you get a better view of the near collision loops.

-Matt, who says Sixers in 6!
I Like both. I like Fire
Man this sound like my grandparents argueing. Skip the virtual crap and ride both:)
Both Dragons have 5 inversions. Fire features an Immelman, Inclined Loop, Vertical Loop and two Flat Spins. Ice features a Heartline Roll, Cobra Roll (2 inversions), a Vertical Loop and a Flat Spin. Fire is about 100ft. longer than Ice, however, but it's hardly noticable. As for my personal preference, definitely Fire. All-out intensity, awesome pacing, great air on the Camelback hill and the Inclined Loop exit is downright intense. Ice has a good drop, a nice turn afterwards and a great footchopper at the castle wall, but Fire just absolutely obliterates Ice in every way, IMHO.

I think Ice starts better, but Fire's better overall and has a much better second half.

I enjoyed Fire better, but I found Ice more intense. I remember getting off Ice and having my feet feel like they were pooled with blood. It was great! The cobra roll is awesome as well. Fire has better pacing than Ice, and the immelman into the helix is incredible. The camelback mentioned many times already IS an exceptional element. Overall, I enjoyed the better pacing and inversions of Fire better than Ice, but I loved both immensely. Also, you'll have plenty of time to ride both. I rode Hulk twice, Spiderman twice, both DDs twice, Jurassic Park, Journey to Atlantis (?) Dr. Doom, and a few others, and I was only in the park from 9:30-3:00. You can hit all the coasters and Spiderman in probably an hour and a half if you do it right. Oh...and always do the single rider line on Spiderman...it goes so fast!
