Teenagers who lined up in beige folding chairs at a Six Flags amusement park job fair last month continually repeated the gripe: The hunt for summer work is brutal. Teens across the nation are facing a similar plight: They need summer jobs for car insurance, college funds and spending money, but the prospects are bleak. Six Flags says it has seen more adult applicants this year.

I work with both adults and teens. I also work with a LOT of slackers. I see people older than me text messaging their friends when they should be working. I am not perfect but at least I work.
Teens get a bad reputation. I am not saying they are all responsible and hard-working. Slackers come in all ages. :) I am in a temp job right now where we are remodeling a store. It's a LOT of physical labor. There's a lot of heavy lifting, moving stuff around, and literally getting dirt and dust all over you. I don't mind it. I think of it as getting paid as well as getting a free workout. :)
I am 37 years old and have a bad back. I don't complain. I work with people (of all ages) who are in BETTER shape than me but whines and complains about everything, even if it's lifting a 2 lb. box. People can be such wusses. God forbid you tell it to their faces. ;)
I don't get it. If the job is too much then they should quit instead of standing around complaining that they might break a nail or miss a text message.
Like I said slackers come in ALL ages.

^^ I second that opinion Tina.
I used to work at a butcher shop, working out back in the cooler doing prep work for our store. plus nine others. I was lifting cases and bin of meat & chicken weighing between 40-80 lbs all day. It was a running joke around the place:
"Body by Meat House"
Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!
I already seconded Tina's opinion, Hopman. You actually thirded it...lol

My 14-year-old cousin Chase washes cars for a dealership. At $15 per car, he makes a killing.
