Premier parks, flagship status.

What Premier parks are of flagship status? My opinion is as follows: 1. SFMM= West coast 2. SFGAm= Midwest 3. SFGAdv= Eastcoast This is just my opinion and I just want answers based on areas of the country. Please dont turn this into a flame war. Just answer 3 Premier parks.

Well Chi-Town, I agree with your parks but not necessarily the order. I would rank them as the following:
1. Magic Mountain
2. Great Adventure
3. Great America
I have not been to Great Adventure yet, but from what I have seen, they have a more diverse collection of rides that Great America, for example, they have the unique Viper heart-line coaster(so what if it may suck), B&R: The Chiller, Medusa, Houdini's Great Escape, and the Skull Mountian ride. Not to mention, they have a Hurricane Harbor and the Wild Safari next door. It seems that of late more installations have been made in Jersey than Illinois.
P.S. This is coming from someone born and raised at Great America =]

Don't forget SFoG... A great big sprawling park with lots of great coaster fun. MINDBENDER, GEORGIA CYCLONE, GEORGIA SCORCHER, the classic GASM, plus VIPER, NINJA, B:TR and the DAHLONEGA MINE TRAIN Ride give the park a wide variety of coaster options. Having just done all the Six Flags parks from St. Louis eastward I can say that SFoG stands out for it's size, theming and great rides. I agree that SFGrA is a great park, as well is SFGAdv (and I've yet to go to SFMM) but the Georgia location is one of the best (plus you could fit Darien Lake, Geauga Lake, St. Louis AND Kentucky Kingdom all inside the Georgia Park!). Anyway, just wanted to tell you about another for the list.

I don't know about ranking SFA as a "flagship" park. It's ugly, half the park has no shade and the only signature ride they really have is Superman (and it's cursed). I would tend to go with SFMM and SFGAm, but I don't think I could pick one in the east.

We were talking about the parks near LA Chicago and New York, not the one near DC. What do you think is wrong with the Jersey Park?

My bad, I didn't see the "Great" in there. ;) I've never been to SFGAdv, so I can't comment there.

Ahem,... IMHO SFoT is The flagship park. Let's not forget where it all began. Where do you suppose the Six Flags name came from? Why it is after the six flags which have flown over the state of Texas (Spain, France, Mexico, Texas, Confederacy, and USA). SFoT - Home of The Texas Giant.

Second - This would probably be Magic Mountain. They seem to get ample media coverage. Although, being in Southern California, this is no shocker. Still, they do have and still get quite a few of the better rides.

Third - Not sure since I have only visited 6 of the 17 Six Flag chain parks.

I would have to agree Backseat, SFoT is the premier park of the 8 that I have visited. This park is top notch in every aspect. Should have bailed on Astroworld and stayed at SFoT!! I'll know better next time...

Well, thats like saying Disneyland is the flagship park for Disney but we all know Disneys flagship park is Disneyworld. It has nothing to do with where the company originated. I have family from Texas that have been to all of the Sixflags parks in that state and in their opinion those parks dont come close to SFGAm and SFMM.
