Your "Coaster Soundtrack"

While driving home from work last night, in my tired state, I got to thinking "If you could be wearing an iPod on a coaster, what songs would I listen to on that ride?" This could also apply to a day at the park.

I came up with a few of my own:

Magnum or Mean Streak: "Hurts So Good" by Springstein

Milrnium Force: "Can't Slow Down," by Joe Satriani

Mind Eraser: "Head Games," by Forgner.

I am not sure what my "soundtrack" would be but ever since I visited HRP last year I am convinced that most (if not all) coasters should have speakers in them. ;)

But only if maintenance actually makes an effort to keep up the speakers. I remember riding Beast with the 25th anniversary (or was it 30th) speakers, and it sounded like total garbage.

Will this be another thread where we learn how bad everyone's taste in music again? :)

I dont have a soundtrack for Coasters, however I do make a Playlist to get me to and from parks (and other places I go often enough) it makes the trips more enjoyable and I have songs I slip in every now and then to help me know when Im half way there, almost there, almost home etc. I update them every year. I also make Halloween versions of my park soundtracks for fall trip (complete with cheezy Halloween music and minus the obvious summer tunes.) Ill admit that I have a bizzare taste in music, but really no one listens to those playlists but me, and for trips that I know Im probably bringing friends with I dial it down and stick to the classics.

Well in that case, Mastodon's new album, Crack The Skye, is probably going to be known as the best metal album of all time.

Not everyone's. Mine's fine...it's everyone else's that's bad. :)

hmm...

"Bleed it out" by Linkin Park would be good on X2 (although I think the metallica they have now is a great choice)

on the Xcelerator at Knott's I would do "Shut up and drive" by lady GaGa

the Rattler at SFFT I can see some song about how painful something is so you can at least try and compare them ( 9 times out of 10 the rattler hurts more! )

Perhaps someday coaster trains will come equipped with iPod ports and speakers in the OTSRs or headrests. When that day comes, everyone will get to customize their coaster experiences. :)

I knoew last year my family anf I got to ride the Raptor in the first car of the season and the song they were playing was Jump by Van Halen! It is a great get you going song!

I always thought that Shut Up and Drive was by the Deftones.

I-pod ports on a coaster train? WOW! Fantastic idea.

Oh yeah.

I like "Doubleback," by ZZ Top. Great somg.
