I wouldn't go as far as to call this news, but it keeps coming up so I figured I'd pass it along. The BBC has a story about a really sad Christmas "theme park" that people feel scammed by after going.
See, if some schmuck can market this to people, how hard could it have been to sell Hard Rock Park? :) 25 pounds is about 37 USD right now.

I think it is a testament to how people will flock to anything Christmas related. To answer your question, they should have named it Christmas Card Rock Park and people would have pushed and shoved their way in.
"Some also said that the animals looked unhappy...."
This actually made me chuckle out loud. What do unhappy animals look like exactly? I picture a group of them sitting in a circle with their arms folded over their chest and their bottom lips sticking out.

...Tensions reached a peak when furious parents allegedly confronted ‘elves’ in a ‘gingerbread house’ and Father Christmas was punched in his grotto...
That is just freakin hilarious!
"What is not here that we haven't advertised?" he added. Gotta love that phraseology, maybe it makes more sense in British? P.T. Barnum would have loved the place, LOL! "The problem, kind sir, is what is NOT present that you HAVE advertised"... ;)

Wouldn't be so hilarious if you got punched in your grotto now, would it? :)
There's nothing silly about it. Advertising is a lot more regulated in the UK, and much of what we see here in the states doesn't fly there (just ask Apple).

I was trying to joke a little with what was given and the police intervention, there's something about Britian that's comedically romantic to me.
Yes the advertising is very wrong and the full heavy law will be brought down upon them, but also it's a very very bad animal rights nightmare and that's more disgusting to me.
Here's a pretty funny release from the owner about why they're closed.
Because, you know, people really hang out and conspire to talk about things they don't care about.
