Busch Entertainment continues to make environmentally friendly changes

Really glad that the commitment has remained strong, and continues to grow. Amusement parks are a fabulos place to introduce kids (and esp. adults) to the importance of sustainability.

Wonder if those utensils made from sugarcane and corn starch are more easily biodegradable than plastic. Or if these are in fact actually plastic, only derived from bio-sources (it can be done).

Just be careful about how you eat the knife! :)

I'm sure they're gonna use all that dung from the animals as fertilizer for the gardens. Might even be a new green (okay, brown,) attraction: "From Poo to Parsnips"

Probably sounds silly, but just another reason why Busch is among my favorite theme park operators. It's their attention to detail... all details.

One of the coolest things Ive heard from Busch is they will be moving to environmental hand dryers for the restrooms.. Heres the model.

Uses very little energy, very sanitary and claims to dry hands in less than 12 seconds.. I am always amazed at the cost/environmental waste a restroom burdens a park.

But this small detail is one of those things I consistently hope is not lost if/when the sale of the parks occur.. Theres a reason they are always high on the environmental list and hopefully shouldnt be ignored in future.

^LOL, I remember spouting off on the benefits of the Xcelerator hand dryers a couple years ago in an effort to get more parkks to use them. Those regualr hand dryers do no good whatsoever, and the waste of paper towels is extreme. Thanks to Busch for leading the way once again, their commitment to the environment makes it easy for me to show them support.

They have the Dyson hand dryers at the MSP Ikea. They're every bit as good as they claim.

They're in the Sands Convention Center in Vegas, as well. I was impressed. I even took a picture of it so I could price them out.

^^^ Plus you'd eliminate the lovely aesthetic of overflowing trash cans in the restrooms. And just slightly reduce the labor costs of cleaning restrooms.

Dyson should be approaching parks about using their product. Maybe offering to install a pair on a trial basis. Hey if it convinces a park to buy several dozen--- why not?

Im trying to picture parents drying babies bums with this new contraption though. Carefully feeding legs through the "hand" holes...
