IAAPA spent $180,000 in the second quarter lobbying on federal oversight of amusement park rides and other issues, according to a disclosure report filed July 11. They also lobbied to extend exemptions to a cap on H-2B visas for temporary workers.

180k? I bet Fanny and Freddy paid well over 180 million to keep from getting oversight in the two bills that were brought up just to do that in 2002 and 2005

I don't even know why you're making the comparison, given the relative size of the amusement industry.

I hear where you're coming from, Jeff. It makes me wonder why such small potatoes is worthy of an AP news story and printed in Conde Nast. Why not report on the groups spending that amount times a hundred or thousand on their lobbying efforts?
