Should I go on the Skycoaster?

Im going to Panama City in a few days and I need to conquer this fear of mine. Skycoasters are the onlythings that scare me. Are they REALLY safe? Have there ever been any accidents?? UGH..im getting nervous just thinking about it. Please help calm my nerves.

Are they worth the extra money is the REAL question ?!?!

You could probably go skydiving for twice the cost of a solo Skycoaster ride.
Yes yes you should.. Drink a lot beforehand, and then ride.. They are fun..

and safe.. The cables used are aircraft cables..
I've NEVER heard of an accident, and there are a lot of skycoasters out there!
It's worth doing it once, but the $$$ is kind of a drag. (I did it at Coastermania so I wouldn't have to pay the full price)

Right, do it once to see what it's like.
Lucky for me, I did the big one, the Kississimee skycoaster in old town.
You go real high, above the tree tops, where you can see the entire park/city.
They say "3,2,1, FLY" and it's over before you know it.
The drop feeling only lasts a second, then it's like a huge playground swing.
It's nothing. The waiting at the top is better than the swing.
And no, the cable can't break. It's strong enough to hold a few cars on it. You're in a harness that holds you tight, wraps around your entire body, it's safe. *** This post was edited by robvia on 5/31/2001. ***
I strongly suggest that you go on the Skycoaster, they are so fun. They give you a sensation that no coaster can, although it may cost a little extra it is definitely worth the price.
I thought the SkyCoaster at Kennywood was pretty fun. It was only scary going up. The inital drop was awesome but after that it was just like a big swing. I don't think I would pay the money to ride it again. If it was half the price then maybe, but $20+ is a little too pricey for me.

They are definetly safe. And everyone should try it once.
