A 75-foot-tall crane hoisted the first of the new Mark VII monorails from a flatbed truck onto the beam way track this morning at Disneyland. The five-car burnt-burgundy train is the first of three new monorails expected to go online at the Anaheim theme park starting in February 2008.

The new monorail looks sharp. It has a 21st century taste with a retro appearance! Very nice! :)

I reaaaaally like it! It's a lot better than the ugly current "Dreams" and "Nemo" themed monorails...

Big fan of the monorails here. Wish there were more of them. So when will WDW be upgrading? They haven't seemed to make any changes in the last 15 years I've been visiting.

Nice. Let's hope Disney has the good taste to refrain from covering the things in decals.

Are these brand spanking new? Or refurbished chassis?

I'm totally stoked by the way. I love the pictures that show the running wheel. Hey? Where's Mr. Monorail?? :)

^ They're brand spanking new. This fleet was on the drawing boards for approximately 3 years.
