  • Holiday World is a best value. Duh.
  • This week on the Conneaut Lake Show: No zoning changes for you!
  • Alton Towers gets its appeal in terms of the noise restrictions.
  • Still more protests over the redevelopment of Astroland.
  • Mt. Olympus is an interesting case study in the development of an amusement park. Mike says they have Mario Kart tracks.
  • Kings Island sites all have new names, and they're watching the installation of Firehawk (formerly known as X-Flight).
  • Sell and lease... the trendy way to infuse capital into your park!
  • Michigan's Adventure named best attraction in the state. Jeff strongly agrees that it's a nice park.
  • What is the HR crisis facing amusement parks? Why do they have to go overseas to fill the spots?
  • The free soda challenge: Value is about perception, not science. Gonch just doesn't get it.

Yup, all the former Paramount Parks are running SpongeBob 3D. This will be their FIFTH season. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.

They are without a doubt the best go carts I've ever ridden. My entire family that lives all over the country all get together every other year. We were there about 10 years aco and are considering going again.

How is HW the best value? A seasonpass is only $10 cheaper than a CP seasonpass and HW has a crappy ride selection compared to CP. Besides the 3 woodies what else does HW have? I can think of alot more parks that offer better rides.

Shhhh. Just smile and nod, Ajrides.

(sometimes it's easier just to agree with the pack than to think for yourself ;) )

The ratio of attractions to dollars isn't the only thing that people base their opinions about "value" on guys.

And who wants to pay for three of the best wood coasters on the planet? That's crazy talk!

I'm not totally against you Gonch. I just believe that people walk away from Holiday World with more than they get at other parks. And that "more" is priceless.

We all see how valuable SFMM is!

Mario Kart is an amazing game, BTW. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Mario Kart for the Wii is like.

Ride selection isn't everything at a park. While I wouldn't consider BGE a "value" park, they provide a quality experience even though they only have four coasters. I would expect a better overall experience at this park as compared to, say, SFA even though the Maryland park has many more coasters.

HW might not have the abundance of thrill rides that a park like CP has but it provides the great overall experience. Also, if it is wood coasters that you want, you can't do better than this park. Another impoatant matter is that they don't act like they are trying to pick your pocket all of the time. That certainly adds to the overall experience. .

I agree. When I went to BGE, I had an amazing time, and didn't even ride a whole lot of rides. I just enjoyed the atmosphere. I took 200 pictures. I enjoyed the birds, the clydesdales, and yes, the rides were awesome too. Holiday World was a similar experience.

Also, no one mentioned the fact that HW's season pass price gets you into one of the best waterparks in the country.

Bah Holiday World Best Value That's Crazy! it sounds like Cedar Fair Talk There. Now They Might Loose Attendance and Maybe Profits,or just Build Another Coaster, a Steel Looping Coaster That is Fun and Can Bring up Attendance Even With The Expensive Passes.
