Coaster that have/will inspire new design

It's an exciting time in the industry with so many new coaster concepts.What coaster do you think have or will inspire new design? For example I believe that the Loop on Son Of Beast will manifest into a new genre of Steel And Woodden hybrids that may one day become an Amusement Park standard.what's your thoughts.

Something that shoots off. I really think Hypersonic clones will be everywhere, that and flying coasters.

I'm really big on the possibilities that exist with launched rides and LIMs. The Arrow 4D is really going to shake things up too, and having S&S in the coaster business is great too.

There are so many new inversions out there too - tophats, cobra rolls, heartline... Speed and airtime are great, but it's the inversions that got really got me into this (ala Shockwave @ SFGAm). I want to see the return of the golden days of the Arrow Mega Loopers - but with the smoothness and comfortable trains that B&M offers. Maybe something like a Hyper-Twister Giga/Mega suspended coaster like Batman combined with Raging Bull or MF.

The more elements, the better... helixes, inclined loops, heartlines, cobra rolls, interlocking corkscrews, tophats, 360 loops, teardrop loops, boomerangs, lets do it all, and do it from 300 ft @ 100 mph !!! :)

I think that there will be a giant fight soon to be the tallest again. This year it seems to be the new inovations, and i think in a year or so the new tallest will be back. Not to mention the the TA2K in Japan. I think the sky is the limit, and that is good for us :)

The Giga Coaster ! we will proboly start to see more of those through out the next 10 years or so.

4D will probably inspire knock off versions by other manufacturers.

I think that we will begin to see much taller coasters with much larger inversions, i.e a hyper/giga coaster with a 200ft loop. The forces on this would not be any greater than that of a normal sized loop, and would also provide for an excellent addition to any parks skyline

I hope Vekoma or Intamin doesn't take the 4D away from Arrow.

I believe that Phantom's Revenge may inspire other parks to consider remodeling there old, rough coaster that have low rider numbers. This is an incredible success story. Also, the conversion of FOF to lapbars may start a great trend as well. We can only hope.

I know this isn't exactly what you were talking about, but I felt these examples needed to be mentioned.

I want to see a floorless woodie get built! If they could come up with a way to run floorless trains on any standard woodie in operation today, that would be the biggest technological breakthrough since the development of the 4th dimension! Also, a stand-up inverted is long overdue!

I agree with jdancism. A lot of parks need to start remodeling or reprofiling some of their coasters. For example, if Mean Streak had a better ending, it would be a much better coaster. BGW needs to reprofile Drachen Fire. Other coasters could have other elements added to spruce up the ride, i.e. tunnels, fog, add a helix or some bunny hops, new cars, even a paint job.

How about this, what if the begininng of a coaster (that has lost popularity) was reconfigured with a launch instead of a chain lift. An average coaster could turn into a one of your favorites.

That would be cool, but it wouldn't do anything for a ride that is rough. In fact it would probably make it worse ! New trains is probably the best thing you could do for a ride. Imagine B&M trains on all those rough riding Arrow mega loopers !

I believe X will spawn a whole new type of coaster, if the ride is a success expect to see clone popping up throughout the country.

FOF has lap bars now? That is very good news.
