Son of Beast not likely to reopen this year

I wouldn't be the least bit disappointed to see it on the "not likely to reopen ever" list.

I wonder how many people will ride this thing now that this has happened.
I know it hasn't made my chances of changing my mind about it any better.

I'll ride it again, when I make it back to PKI at some point. I was entertaining making a trip this October, but, may change my plans now.

I guess I am in the minority, but I like the ride.

I'll never ride the thing ever. I have a slipped disk because of the ride.

Wonder how long it will take us to stop refering to the park as "PKI"?

Maybe when they change the name? It's still Paramount's Kings Island. They're not changing the name any time soon.

Hahahahaha! If SOB didn't re-open, that wouldn't hurt my feelings in the least. CPLady and I had already agreed that our days of riding that were in the past before the accident anyway.

Whoa, I missed something here. A Cedar Fair property with another company's name on the marque? I thought that Paramount wanted to disassociate itself from the business.

Look! Season Pass prices already (it's on the Enquirer site)

Adult pass: $74.95; child/senior pass: $44.95. These are up to $20 cheaper than the current season. In 2006, to get an adult rate under $75 required buying a pack of four passes.
Cedar Fair Maxx pass: $124.95 (new this year). Provides access to all 12 Cedar Fair parks including Cedar Point and Geauga Lake in northern Ohio.
Renewing pass holders get free parking if they purchase by Oct. 29
New pass holders can add season parking for $34.95

All that information was on Kings Island's site this morning, but now it's missing.

Personally, I still have too many unanswered questions. Still not enough information to know which park I should buy my 2007 pass from...

And the all important question of whether passes from other Cedar Fair Parks (such as WoF) will be honored at all parks has yet to be answered. And yes, this post has indeed veered off course.

I went to PKI and was kinda thankful that Sonny was down. Have to ride all the wooden coasters whenever I return to a park I haven't visited in awhile, and I likely had a MORE enjoyable visit for not having to ride it.

I said it when the incident first occurred, and see no reason to change my guess now....Sonny MAY indeed have given its last ride to those injured...just turn the Rose Bowl into an O-n-B section, and everyone wins...although I don't see CF investing that heavily into a potentially-doomed wooden coaster.

Me too, Dave! Which park would give me the better parking deal.. thats my real question!
