Batwing Update??

I was just wondering if anyone went to SFA today and know the construction status on Batwing.

The official word is June 12 for the opening although there may be a soft (unannounced) opening beforehand. Anyone who has been to the park recently knows that there is a lot of landscaping and a full midway left to construct. And all this rain isn't helping matters either.

As I understand it June 12 is scheduled to be the press day. Will it also be open to the public that day? It is possible that there may be a soft opening a few days earlier.

SFA and company are working hard to get the coaster ready. I was really surprised to see them pouring concrete yesterday on a Sunday. Pouring concrete on Sunday is very expensive due not only to overtime, but also to special charges for opening the batch plant on a Sunday.

what exactly is a soft opening?does that mean that the coaster will be open to the public before june 12th?me and my coaster buddies have got a trip planned for june 9th and we really are desperate to ride.should we push our trip up a couple of weeks?

A soft opening means that the coaster may be open or may not be open for limited periods as sort of a beta test. It gives the park a chance to test out things with a large selection on people and do things like training the operators on loading real world people onto the trains. Since the coaster isn't officially open, no one can complain that they didn't get to ride due to problems that may come up.

I was there today (Tuesday 5/29) and they were pouring concrete for some walls near the station.
