It seems like I remember the CBC as having been built with steel supports. I guess it's still technically a wooden coaster, though, because of the track.
I think most of the injuries were due to the restraints and bench seats, with people slamming into each other on the turns.
The fact that there were so few injuries makes we think that it would not be that dangerous given proper seats.
I read one place that the nurse on duty was there more for publicity than for real threats, but another source said it was a requirement of the insurance company. I tend to believe the former.
Regardless of it's danger potential, I'd sure get on it in a heartbeat.
