Newly appointed Conneaut Lake Park general manager George Deshner recently learned that the financial records aren’t the only thing in disarray at the 113-year-old amusement park.

"This place was a mess," said Deshner about the odds and ends he found stored throughout the park.

Wow, that must have been fascinating. I wish I had gone up there. Kind of like opening a time capsule.

Wow... George was actually a friend of mine when I lived in Meadville. He even housed me for a few weeks when I was without an apartment. Perhaps I should get in touch with him again.

I'd love to root thru all the vinyl they found! I bet there is alot of 80's cheese, Culture Club-Color By Numbers, Van Halen-1984, Michael Jackson-Thriller. I can only imangine what may be there from the 70's and earlier! :)

If you like 80's cheese on Vinyl I have a ton of it in my closet. Heck I even have Purple Rain on purple vinyl.

^I am cooler. I have Purple Rain on cassette, and the movie on VHS. ;-) I am the QUEEN of 80's cheese! :-)

I still have my Culture Club and Michael Jackson vinyls, as well as everything released from Duran Duran from 1981-1985. I wonder if they had any Kajagoogoo or Crowded House?

Dan, when I first read the article that was my thoughts exactly. I would of glady volunteered in exchange for taking some of those vinyls "off their hands" even though I don't have a turntable right now. lol.

Still, it's great to hear they are cleaning house so to speak, and doing whatever they can to keep the park thriving. I LOVE Conneaut and any good news is well, GREAT news.

color me stupid... but where did it say that they found all of that vinyl? They said they found filing cabnites filled with records... then later went on to say that they would evaluate these later to see which records were needed. Nothing menitoned about vinyl LP's or singles.... sounds more like business records etc to me (how can you tell which vinyl records are "needed").

Only the part about the stereo with an LP still on it specifically mentions that type of record.
