Ten people were arrested -- many of them minors -- after two brawls broke out at Magic Mountain about 8 p.m. Saturday and the park closed early, according to a sheriff's official.

I doubt if that's the answer here. It's too broad and drastic a solution to a statistically limited problem. Higher season pass prices? Larger single-day discounts limited to groups as opposed to individuals? Both steps in the right direction.

They give senior citizens discounts and such, so I can only assume that age-based pricing is legal. Maybe this could be a solution...

There was a time at another park I'm familiar with that skirmishes tended to break out on certain days when certain areas and schools were scheduled to attend. Make it more expensive for teens, add metal detectors, and the incidents are virtually eliminated.
The ten people who come in for cheap to start a brawl aren't going to spend $300 to get in to a park just to start a fist fight and immediately get kicked out and have their mommy called. That money can be better spent on ginger ale and marshmallows for the next gang meeting.

But, just like the Castle Park fight incident that happened in February, one gang fight may serve as a warning that the gangs are active and looking for trouble, but it still doesn't set an immediate precident that the park has a problem with gang fights.
