Six Flags Great Adventure readies several new attractions

Should we be suprised?.....but, I'll be at the park in late April. Hopefully everything will be up and ready by then.

Have you ridden Tsunami? there were good reasons for the delay, many of which were not related to NJ inspection. Kingda Ka won't be a hard inspection, cause the forces won't be as abrupt nor as violent, plus the harnesses are already OTSR's so that potential safety requirement has been addressed.

Because of certain changes in design from TTD, I have a feeling this ride will open and be somewhat more reliable than it's little sister in Ohio.

I predict the Early May opening to be quite acheiveable.

Yes, I had heard that it was not scheduled to open until May. I believe it says that on either the SFGadv site or Gadv guide.

I hope you're right Sam. I keep having these visions of angry park guests storming the guest relations window with torches in hand after waiting 3 hours only to witness the thing breaking down before they have a chance to ride!

Wow, this park opens already?

Being so far north, the weather must be preaty cool. Cedar point and other parks that are in the north do not open till may.

Nice attraction package!

There's fun for kids too small to ride and shows for folks who don't give a rip about KK or coasters whatsoever.

If it did go down, folks would have more to do than sit on bleachers--that's for sure!

SF have been maintaining the park since 1978.

As long as its up and running for coaster celebration on May 21 thats my first visit of the year.I want ert on kk since I never got it on ttd the last 2 yrs not to mention 8hrs less of a drive. I'm also glad that their putting security on Nitro and SUF to stop line cutters thats long over due. Three more weeks and I'll be riding the real #1 coaster SROS at SFNE.

You have no idea how hard NJ's inspectors are going to be looking at this ride. It won't be pretty, a ride of this size never is. Heck, pre-season inspections of almost any ride in any state is never a "easy" thing.

It'll be running when it's ready. I wish the guys in NJ all the best in getting it running, passed, and keeping it safe. It's not an easy job people.

Crazy Horse mentioned that it might be cool in NJ for the opening. SFGAm in Chicago and SF St. Louis are both scheduled to open Friday as well, Right now I'm in Peoria about half way in between the two parks and the snow is coming down by the bucket full outside.

SFGAm is scheduled to open this Friday? I think you got your Six Flags parks mixed up. The windy city SF park isn't scheduled to open to the public until April 30th. Private events start mid April.

SFSTl does open this Friday though so you are half right. :)

I dont know if I would want to be on kingda ka or any other coaster in 35-40 degree weather.....that would be some major wind burn.

Anybody have any clue what the "numbered-pass system" will be? How is it going to cut down on line cutters?

The "numbered-pass system" is where they give guests entering the line a piece of paper with a number on it. They then collect it before you board the ride. If someone gives in a number higher than the numbers they're currently collecting, that'll be a sign that they cut the line.

Cedar point tried the numbered passes out a few years back. I dont know how well it worked, but they dont do it anymore.

Whether this particular SYSTEM works or not, I am *ecstatic* to see that GAdv recognizes that line-cutting is a serious problem in their park! :)

Crazy horse.....you wondered "wow, this park opens already?" SGGAdv always opens on Good Friday/Sat.....it just so happens that Easter is very early this year, therefore it seems odd to be opening in March. You normally see sometime in April as an opening date. They will be open (I believe) daily the entire week following Easter and then weekends until Memorial Day.
