Disney considers park near Seoul

Looking to expand its global entertainment empire, Walt Disney Co. is sizing up South Korea for a possible theme park. During the last several months, company executives have been in talks with government officials over a site south of Seoul, sources familiar with the matter said.

The population is certainly there. What a huge city.

And leave it to Eisner and his crew of short-sighted minions to "harvest the brand" by building half-day parks until the Disney name is too tarnished to mean something special regardless of where they live.

Disney needs to put the soul back in some of their existing parks before they put the next park in Seoul.

A little play on words there...get it? Well, gee...if I have to explain it then it wasn't any good.

If it's another type of park, okay. But if it is yet another "Magic Kingdom" type park then no. They will be diluting the brand two much if they keep building clones all over the place. Especially in the same region. If they wanted to build in South America or Australia, okay. I could see that. But yet another park in Asia? No.

These places should be kind of special and destinations. Not like McDonald's with one on every corner.

Exactly.

Welcome to Disney Seoul. Would you like a ride with that?

Well, too bad. Here's a garden. Buy food and merchandise. Zip-a-dee-do-dah!

Korea, Japan, and China are certainly less in the same region than LA and Orlando.

Actually, a garden would probably be pretty well received in Seoul from what I've heard about the city.
