My daughter is already bugging me about "How soon can we get up to New Jersey in the spring?"

I love it when they interview the enthusiasts. Gotta love the "riding since he was 4" qualification. :)

Very cool though. Can't wait to see it in action.

Hum, maybe it would of been better if they did not mention that it's only the tallest by 36 feet. The article should of mentioned that kingda Ka is part of a whole new area in the park.

Your thoughts?

That story is useless without a photo.

I agree Den, but one thing who are the men or women who are going to be up there. Do they get to ride it for free because thats really high up there. Just think if you were up there on a cord or something then...SNAP! SPLAT! :)

No one on the East Coast will care how much taller it is than Dragster and no one in Northeast Ohio and Southern Michigan will care that Kingda Ka is taller (save for the 14-year old fanboys). That's why they didn't mention the difference in height.

...and to add to Jeff: few people outside of the East and Midwest will know and/or care about either, except for enthusiasts of course.

I have to agree moosh, my friend from chicago came back for Xmas break and was all "Six Flags Great America is building the worlds tallest coaster." I just smiled and went "okay" General public only cares about the park closest to them, If I said "It is actually is Six Flags Great Adventure", he would have no idea what the hell I'm talking about so why even bother?

I'm not going to SFGADV because of this, I'll just ride Dragster. No OTSR's, it'll be more reliable, and the lines will be shorter because CP ride ops rock.

Six Flags park.. Intamin has to compensate for inferior maintenance/safety somehow

(I'm only kidding! ;) )

I cannot wait until the spring. I think I'll organize a field trip for my employees later this spring. I, of course, will make the opening day trip myself. It's a rite of spring to make the 6 hour journey from Boston by myself.

Thanks for the breaking news. Everyone hear really cares that you won't be visiting the park or riding its new coaster. Do yourself a favor and refrain from ridiculous posts.

Well I'll ride this opening day and many times after that,
but I have the luxury of being 25 minutes away from it.
I will also make my yearly journey to Cedar Point. I love Great Adventure. Its my home park and I've been going there since it opened, but CP is a different experince.
