TA2K Underconstruction!!!!!

Amen, Jeff. I've tried to keep my mouth shut about CP 02, simply because I have no freaking clue what they are going to put in. Until then, I'll steer clear. Back to this freaky TA2K....

AWESOME!!! Did ya see the size of the turnaround??? I've never seen such a massive curve before. I think S&S will stay away from inversions as they obviously don't want OTSRs to ruin the ride.

I calculated the terminal velocity from 322ft (Most common estimate) and it's 98mph. Therefore 107mph is perfect for launching the trains over that height.

The coaster war is far from over, Goody!

What do OTSR's have to do with inversions?

I agree with Jeff....

Who says S&S need to add OTSR to a TA2K in order to traverse inversions? Look at the Hypersonic trains as they are now. They do a perfectly good job of holding you in, especially at the top of the tower, where it's needed most. The lapbars have, like, 3 different restraints to keep your legs in, and it's pretty tight from what I hear. The biggest question I would have about inversions on this type of ride is not about OTSRs but more about the track type. To me, it seems like the track may be too wide to do some types of inverts. Loops should be ok, but other twists may be difficult. Personally, I hope the next model of TA2K will be more of an out and back style, with lots of speed hills. The one in Japan looks like the one at PKD only with a larger layout and a possible helix. I'd rather have more hills.

Frankly, if CP (and I'm not going to dwell on CP) were to get a TA2K, I'm not sure where they could put it without using either the parking lot, or tearing out an attraction like DT. CP could do like PKD did and build over midways, but then I'd doubt they would have a 300 ft tall/100 mph ride, 150ft maybe, but not 300.

I'm just hoping PKI doesn't get one next year (not going to dwell on this either). I want my B&M hyper dreams to come true first.....

Oh well, aint speculation grand?

Chris

I'm just not used to coasters w/o OTSRs. Haven't ridden 'em. If Megaloopers such as B&Ms (Medusa etc) were to get lapbars, I'll never mention this again. ;)

Good point Chris. As for this TA2K, it looks like a pure speed machine to me. Oh, I wonder if it will get a bunny hop like Hypersonic albeit a stretched out one. *** This post was edited by Taipan on 5/25/2001. ***
