Gary Story, COO of Six Flags, Inc., is leaving the company for health reasons, according to a press release from the company. Story served as President and Chief Operating Officer and a director since June 1994. From 1992 to 1994, he was the company's Executive Vice President. He began his theme park career in 1972 as a seasonal employee.

The existing VP's, and presumably the new one, are all industry people. Having them all answer to Burke, without Story to fight their battles in the board room, doesn't exactly strike me as a winning move for the company. It's all pointless speculation on my part, but I've seen what happens in public companies with people not qualified to steer the ship at the top because I've worked at such companies.
