Phantom's Revenge Question?

Does Phantom's Revenge have a underground tunnel? When the layout for the ride was released I thought it had a long underground tunnel or did they scrap that like the extra hump on the before the big second hill? Thanks :)

They scraped the tunnel and just made it a trench that goes through the thunderbolt. Hopefully they will add a tunnel by next season, at least that is what they are saying.

From what I have heard they are going to finish the tunnel eventually.

I heard they're still debating what to do, but a tunnel might still be added. I really wouldn't care if they did or if they didn't add a tunnel...at the earliest, expect a tunnel by next year. One may have to be added because of the unstable hillside when PR passes under the Thunderbolt for the 2nd time. This may help protect the track from falling debris, and help support the Thunderbolt better.

A recent article in one of the local papers around here said that park officials were "still decided whether or not to include the tunnel element."
