Worker found dead at Virginia water park

Wow, that whole city is cursed! Fourth drowning this year? I feel sorry for everyone who lives there.

That isn't a large number for the size of Virginia Beach. Here in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area we have had more than 4 drownings in the past month.

I can't imagine how this guy would have died unless he couldn't swim, which seems unlikely or he jumped off the tower and got injured.

Does anyone else find it odd that employees were testing a ride and no one realized that something happened until 30 minutes later? When testing a ride (especially a water ride such as this), wouldn't someone be watching as others were on the ride.

Surely someone must have seen him on the ride...Didn't they watch to see if he got out?

Okay..maybe I watch too much CSI, Law and Order, and NYPD Blue...I am getting too skeptical about these types of things.

I agree freaky. I don't think you are too skeptical at all. It does seem really odd to me as well that no one was watching or even discovered the body for thirty minutes.

In the article, it sounds like everyone else went to lunch, and they found him when they got back. Not really that suspicious.

this was such a tragedy. I was at ocean breeze last week and viewed the new ride. the pool that you end up in is literally a 7' by 7' square that is eight feet deep. it is tiny. it does seem particularly odd that nobody saw him in the pool considering the park was open to customers, and the new ride is highly visible. it seems someone would notice him in there when exiting the mat rides. reports later state that the worker couldn't swim.
