Cedar Point donates stray change to area charities

Cedar Point is donating $7,500 to organizations that benefit children. The money is a collection of loose change found underneath rides, along the Midway and in the park's water fountain.

Random facts:

In the past the rides with the most money collected have been:

Demon Drop (Always seems to be a favorite- you know the penny trick, right?)

Witches Wheel (How? I don't know...)

And, more recently, Chaos

In the past, rides were given different charities to "collect" for. I'm not sure if it still happens that way.

Candidate for ride that people lose the most amount of stuff on: the old Magic Carpet at Chessington World of Adventures, near London (no longer there unfortunately). The same ride can be found at Kennywood I think, unless it's been removed since I was there. Now, these rides managed to extract change/keys etc. from people's zipped up pockets!

It's great news, but it's old news. Cedar Point has been doing that for years now. Do other parks (other than Cedar Fair) donate their loose change?

I don't know any park that does not do this. This isn't news in any way, shape, or form. Must be a slow day for some people around here!

Power Surges are another moneymaker/ loser depending on what side you are on. I always hear money falling from that at Knoebels. Then there's the Sattellite wich is another moneymaker.

Well, I believe I donated a few cents because of the Demon Drop-penny thing. :)

I'm sure you guys are aware of all the change that is thrown onto one of the footers closest to the bridge portion of the queue on Mantis...does anyone know if they have people go down into the lagoon to get money that didn't stay up on the footer? If so, do they wait until the off-season when they drain the lagoons? That wouldn't be the mose pleasany job dragging the bottom for spare change.
