CoasterBuzz changes slated for late Wednesday

CoasterBuzz.com will be down for a short period of time late Wednesday night as data is converted for the roll-out of the new site on its third birthday, Thursday. Test runs have run about a half-hour or less, but of course anything can happen.
In addition to the scheduled down time, the CoasterBuzz Club URL (http://club.coasterbuzz.com) will no longer be used. Club members will still get all of the ad-free browsing, as well as several new features, at the same URL used by non-members. The site will "know" about your club membership status.
Join us Thursday as CoasterBuzz turns three years old!
The data conversion wouldn't take so long if you guys would just once and for all figure out "What has happened to CoasterBuzz" and be done with it. ;)

As for "what happened to Coasterbuzz" I can tell you: it's become the best place to talk coasters, meet great people, and have a little fun. Its like RRC without the drama and trolls ;)

Yeah... let's see if I can actually deploy all the features at once. At least the customization stuff is done. I'm betting on "Cool Blues" to be the most popular theme.
The expense related to the site isn't incurred by how it works, it's paying for the bandwidth that costs money. Maintaining it doesn't cost anything but my free time (which has been gone for the better part of the last month).
The crazy thing is that the site has more or less been running on the same code for about three years. Revisiting that code has made me appreciate how much I've learned in that time. I was a total amateur then, by comparison.
And thankfully, RideMan won't hate the site now that he finally has a real computer and can see the graphics. ;)

Thanks for the word of warning about the scheduled downtime tomorrow evening & I'm looking forward to seeing the new look for the site on it's 3rd anniversary.
Keep up the great work so that the buzz will be around for all of us to enjoy in the years to come,it really has become one of the best sites on the web & all this was acomplished in 3 short years.
