X-Flight Delays: Why???

I am beginning to wonder why X-Flight is taking so long to open. If it's trouble with training the employees, why don't they have a construction worker operate it and have the regular employees run it? If they can't get the trains to recline on the lift hill, fix it overnight and have the trains recline in the station untill it's fixed. If it's running fine for the commercial shoots, OPEN IT ALREADY!

I briefly went out to SFWoA today and they were slowly running the trains up the lift in the upright position. As they went up, each car did recline into the laydown position except one went down a little later than it should have. Here's hoping it will be running next weekend.

If the train isn't reclining on the lift, work on it during the week while the park is CLOSED! If the transfer track isn't working, only use one side and test it while the park is closed. If they don't have a crew use the workers that BUILT the darn thing! They should work out the problems overnight but they shouldn't close the whole thing for MINOR problems! People have traveled from far away to ride this thing and I can almost garentee they won't come back!
I've said it before. Be careful before traveling to ride any new coaster, especially one with relatively new technology (see Hypersonic XLC). Let it break in for a while. When you're dealing with complex machinery, radical designs, and computer systems, problems can occur. This isn't your father's roller coaster.

I've been saying that the entire year, and people think I'm nuts. A few coasters have opened on time, with no problems (Nitro, and Titan). But most of the newer rides are opening late.
Yes, parks don't owe us anything with the ride schedules, but lets face it. There is a season.
July and August are impossible with everyone out of school. September goes to weekend hours.
All the rides are late this year. The parks are giving us an opening date, then delaying, while they test the ride during park hours.
Hypersonic is the letdown of the year. The hype, the anticipation, only to end up with 1 train, and long lines. I was gonna fly up there for a trip in June, but now I've cancelled that plan. That means I'm not visiting PKD or BGW this year because of their delays, I'll wait till next year. Why is Hypersonic still broken after two months? It should be running 4 trains, or was that just a dream?
I also don't understand how a park can be closed during the week, and the ride is still broken on the weekend. What are the mechanics doing during the week? If they need parts then ship them Fedex over night and get them installed.
Deja VU has burned out motors? Get new ones. What are they waiting for?
People don't like hearing negative talk, but we're frustrated. We get all excited about new rides, only to be let down with problems, and the parks don't seem to care. If they told us why it's taking so long, maybe we'd cut them some slack. But we don't see it that way.
This year is a write off, I'm just waiting to see if X will be ready by September. CP picked a good year to do the camp site thing, because all the other parks have blown their chance to win fans. CP will come back next year with something big, on time, and then I'll fly up there.
In the case of X-Flight, I can understand because it just opened, but let's hope they get the entire ride finished soon.

No, but I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that many new coasters have very similar motors. The B&M and Intamin motors all appear very similar, as do their transmissions.
But back to the subject, if parks are going to market something, they better do their best to make it happen on time. They do owe that to consumers, and if something is behind, they don't figure that out on opening day, they know it's coming. I refuse to believe that these projects are anything other than poorly managed. If huge projects like Millennium Force or Nitro can meet their opening dates (one of which had to endure a nasty Erie shore winter), then there's no reason that smaller projects with proven designs like X-Flight shouldn't open on time.
These kinds of things will bite the parks in the turd cutter where they have competition. May and June are the months you need guests to round out your season and make budget. If you have the reputation for opening your new attractions late and miss out on prime marketing opportunities, people will visit your competitors that time of year.

Deja Vu has not burned motors, there are some problems with the sensors of the towers. SF have ordered the rides to late. Furthermore SF won't make the same mistake of last year. OPEN THE ATTRACTIONS TO SONE! One platform of the X-Flight is not finished yet. Next weekend the coaster will be open. 2 weeks later Batwing will open for public. In the first of second week of July the Deja Vu's will open. This coaster next atleast 4 weeks of testing.

And that's the only point I've been trying to make throughout each one these types of threads. Construction problems or not, these should have been planned for. There is nothing wrong with starting construction early (see Alton Towers). But when you start late, bad things happen..

It’s nice to see that some other people are finally getting fed up with the way things are going this season.
I just got back from northern Ohio. I had planned on spending 2 days at SFWoA, but since X-Flight wasn’t running, I went back to CP for a second day instead. Not having their new attraction open cost them my business, and I’m sure it is costing them a lot of other people’s business as well. The operator’s spiel on the Skyscraper was “… ride our new flying coaster – opening in June…” So SFWoA will be loosing a big chunk of Memorial Day traffic.
These parks are going to take big hits to their pocketbooks – hopefully that is enough to teach them a lesson.

Didn't you guys go through this last year with SOB? I'm not surprised one bit by this, I honestly can't remember a time Vekoma opened a "major" coaster on time. Looks like Six Flags is taking a bite in the butt this year, they should have learned from PGA's two mistakes, Stealth and Invertigo. And guess what you lucky Ohioians, the fun doesn't end there. Just wait till it opens running one train, constant break downs, and getting stuck on the lifthill with the sun shining in your face. I mean really, why do you guys think Paramount didn't buy anymore?

It seems kind of weird that Talon wasn't really marketed until a week after opening day. It, Nitro,and Titan have opened on time. Hmmmmm... Is this a SF thing or does it occur all the time? I think the false adevertising has too stop because thta is one of the major causes of all of this grief. Just my thoughts...

ummmmmm, Dont bet on it, If my meomory is correct, Testing still has'nt happened and I dont even think the trains have arrived or even if they have, they havent been assembled, I am pretty sure I am right here as we havent heard or seen any kind of testing on this coaster yet. Also dont forget, they probably still need to do walkways to the coaster, queue lines, get the station ready etc. I could be wrong,and if I can, I would love someone to correct me with Proof, but I predict Batwing wont open this memorial weekend.
As for X-Flight, I am getting worried here, I am visiting the park Early June on June 9th I think, although X-Flight should be open then, who knows if it will be fully running at that time?????? I really cant understand the delays for X-Flight, they completed the ride with 1 month to spare before the park opened and then suddendly done nothing for a month, Talk about Lazy.
I just Pray, Six Flags get their lazy butts of their chairs and get X-Flight up and running ASAP. I mean they promised us it was on schedule to open on the opening day of the season, but LOOK WHAT HAPPENED.
Anyway, I am sure X-Flight will open Friday, I am sure they will battle like mad to get it open for the Memorial Weekend Crowds, otherwise the biggest line at the park that weekend will be at Customer Relations
