As long as it's being placed in another park, that makes it a little less sad. We'll probably see it at SF Mexico or something, where a ride that is still great fun, but just not the thrill machine of this day, can still be a cornerpiece of the park.

Thanks, old friend.

*Begins to cry*

I have only been to SFGAm one time, but while I was there I rode Whizzer. It wasn't Raging Bull, Batman, or Iron Wolf , but I LOVED THAT COASTER! It was fun to ride it and know I was riding a small piece of history. I wish Six Flags would sell it to Silver Dollar City (it would fit in perfectly with there theming. A good classic coaster like Whizzer..... ahhhhhh to dream).

But now that I think about it, it might be going to Magic Springs. It is the home of the classic coaster, Whizzer is a classic coaster and the GM Ed Hart, is in bed with Six Flags, and we do know a new ride is coming next year...

And, "no", it wasn't the Lemon Chill or Dippin' Dots guy I talked to.

Hey! My old friend used to be a Lemon Chill guy... You leave them alone... :P On the other hand, I am sad to see the Whizzer go... It was also my first coaster, and without it, I wouldn't be posting here for obvious reasons. Oh well... Just have to move on... I got 30 dollars that it will be another kiddie koaster in its place.

I doubt it... The current landscape and trees are perfect for a flying coaster. If they wanted a kiddie coaster they could've kept the Whizzer.

I can't believe it. I kept telling myself, "No, they would NEVER get rid of Whizzer. It has 30 to 45 minute lines on a regular basis."

Another SFGAm classic bites the dust. I know where I'm spending the next two weekends.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. It better be a B&M flyer.

Well, I was sad when I heard about it nearly a week ago. When I rode it lasst Wednesday, I figured that, well, this could be my last spin on the Whizzer. I rode it late afternoon and behind me was about an 8-year old girl, and what I considered her grandma. They were both yelling in enjoyment. At the end of the ride, near the brakes, she told her grandma,"This is is a good one for us! And her grandma replied, "Yeah, we coud ride this forever!" Sigh, another great Marriot-esque ride down the tube. Goodbye Whizzer, you were the best. I loved you. You were great for families, and fun for me. Please Six Flags, sell the Whiz at a nice price so someone will buy it. And keep it in this country please!

Dang it! 1st the SkyWhirl, then the HayBaler, then the Cajun Cliffhanger and now this! I hope they use their heads and put in another family type ride so little 8 years olds and their Grandmas can ride something in the park besides Spacely Sprocket coaster and the Sky Trek Tower. Come on Six Flags, use your heads!

I'm putting money this coaster goes to SFKK. (it's been several years since they've had a sizeable addition and this seems like a good option for them) I've just got this really wicked hunch. ;)

They might put in a less intense flyer like AIR. That would fill the family coaster gap, and give us a flyer. I hope they go all out with the intense flyer though.

I'm betting on a wild mouse where power dive/ cliffhanger were and a flyer where whizzer is.

Alex- who is so sad of the news after 14 years with the whizzer

NOOOO!!! there goes my first coaster love...like they don;t have any room to build something...what about the land across the highway??? i hope the flyer is not a clone...better go get some last rides...they already took it off of the website...wouldn't it suck if they cut down all the trees when they make the fleyer...

If they have to take out the only family coaster in the park then I'm hoping for a wild mouse which is desperately needed in addition to the new coaster. (A dark ride would be a nice touch too)
