Paramount's Kings Dominion announced today the operation of Hypersonic XLC, their S&S Thrust Air coaster. The ride was down so far this season as tweaks were made and the trains were modified.
The park also said they intend to announce their 2003 attraction today, noting that you should, "Hold your breath, and don't look down!"

Those headrests on Hypersonic are pretty big.
Actually, to my eyes, those aren't really headrests at all, since they're well above where most people's heads would be. They appear to be more for keeping your arms from being thrown back too far during the launch. Not a bad idea -- I never had a problem with it, but I can certainly see how one's arms might REALLY get jammed during that launch.

It sounds like it could be a Vertical Drop Coaster maybe??? Dont forget when Oblivion was advertised, they told us Dont look down so hearing those words again makes me think of this, So could this be America's First Vertical Drop Coaster from B&M I wonder????
I like the new look trains on HyperSonic, lets hope the ride operates a little more reliable this time, Glad to see it open again.
Doesn't look like they fixed my main beef with the trains... the skinny lapbars. Putting several times your body weight all on small points on your legs is not much fun. Maybe I just need more fat in my legs, but I found the air to be really uncomfortable.

Like I said yesterday my money's on the big announcement being for an acrophobia clone, the term used by the park saying "hold your breath and don't look down" seems to say it all.
Of course the hold your breath line could refer to some sort of water slide though. and with H:XLC being back in bussiness it looks like good news for me when I go to PKD hopefully in july or august, those trains sure look kinda odd to me with those oversized headrests.
