Tussauds Group acquires Heide Park

Days after the shocking announcement of a 400-ft. tall steel coaster, The Tussauds Group (Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Madame Tussauds wax museums worldwide, London Planetarium, Warwick Castle, operators of the London Eye and designers of Universal Port Aventura) have recently announced the purchase of one of mainland Europe's top amusement parks, Heide Park, in Germany.

This was mentioned a while back, however beware Tussards have in the past changed coasters that are planned ie SW3, SW4 and SW5 at the Towers............ There is also speculation in whether they are planning on selling one of their other parks which was researched through Duhram University Tourism Sector as stated in the industry magazine called ITT's ED 43

My question about Heide Park is this: Is the park (pre-Tussaud's) related to the candy manufacturer? Just realized the morning that the name's the same....

I'm from the UK and all I can say is that this seems like it's for the best. Tussauds in the past have liked making gimmicks and if such a park can have gimmicks like 'we've got the tallest roller coaster in the world' then I don't think there's a company any better to advertise such a title - they advertised Oblivion quite well even though it's not a good coaster and still it's very popular and the name on everyone's lips, coaster enthusiast or non-coaster enthusiast.

Looks like the company is on a roll at the moment, B&M Flyer at Alton Towers, 10-looper at Thorpe Park, B&M Inverted to land on Thorpe soil in 2003... and now this? I'll be happy if they keep spending money on coasters the way they have been lately. Woodie..... please?
