I knew this was going to be a special day when my friend and I pulled into the parking lot at noon and only the first two parking rows were completely filled!
Headed straight to Viper and went directly into the station and had to wait behind only one couple in order to ride in the back row. Otherwise we would've walked straight on. Good ride but air didn't seem quite as good as last year.
Then to the Bull. Again, straight into the station and only had to wait for one train before getting on the back row! Total wait time - 2 minutes. Was smooth -- and some people were able to reride as there was no one to replace them.
On to the Eagle. Straight to the back. Again, had to wait for only one train. Red train. Back row. Ride is running FAST this year. Only one complaint -- after the first drop the lapbars collapsed extremely tightly onto my crotch. Nevertheless, the ride was so surprisingly good that we hopped directly into the row in front of us after the ride was over. No such lapbar problems the second time.
Onto the Wolf. 3.5 minute wait. Middle row. Leaned forward the whole time, was not so bad. Still very rough, and my train did not enjoy it, nor did my friend.
Next--Batman. 4.5 minute wait for 2nd row. This ride was running very fast, almost too fast. I've come to the conclusion that this is the most intense and thrilling ride in the park. I was actually a bit dizzy after the ride, which is unusual for me.
Next-- Whizzer. Nice gentle ride.
Next --Viper, round 2, ejector seat. Man, I'm worried that this ride is slipping in my book. Has been a solid #2 for the last 3 years, but where's the air? Also, doesn't seem as fast as Eagle.
Onto Bull, Round 2, front row. Actually, I'm starting to realize that this ride is much better at night. No thrill this time.
Eagle, Round 3. Front row. Absolutely no wait. Only 6 other people in the entire train!! Another solid ride. This coaster was the pleasant surprise of the day.
By this time it was 3:00, and I had been on 10 coasters. It was time to leave. I fully expect that I will never have a surreal day like this at the park again.
By the way, an employee told me that Memorial Day weekend is when both new rides should open.
