You "Family" people don't realize that Disney went a little bit overboard on the "family" side of things, to the point where the park is flat out boring. I've never gone and I have no plans on going. Like everyone is saying, there is nothing to do.
Give it time? Huh? They've built the park, it's done, and they did it with kiddie rides. Tearing down rides and putting something else in their spot is hard to do. Michael won't admit they screwed up, his ego is too big. If it was that easy, then they'd tear down SuperStar Limo and put an S:UE or a drop ride in its place. Have they torn down SuperStar Limo yet?
A family in Orlando can visit US/IOA and there are many things for the kids to do. That's why attendence at Disney is down (read it in another report, there are numbers to prove this).
We're bashing Disney because Michael Eisner thought the "magic" would make people visit DCA. Sure, staying in their hotels and visiting 4 parks is fun, but once you visit IOA/US with everything in 1 park, it's over, there is no turning back. The kids become thrill seakers and Disney is a park for 4 year olds. If you wanna push your sleeping baby around in a stroller and pay big bucks to do it, visit Disney.
I have a 10 year old daughter, when IOA came along 2 years ago, that was it, we haven't been back to Disney since, and we have no plans on going back.
Talk "family" all you want, but the bashing and negative views are valid. We want thrill rides, and we're voting by not visiting DCA or the Orlando parks.
