Disney is a large company with an EXTREMELY (perhaps overly so) clean-cut image. A high profile lawsuit would kill that image. It's pretty much accepted practice for them to settle rather than argue. This prevents them from gaining bad press, as you've all said, and keeps their image intact. Besides, it's worth the money because that kind of settlement is pocket change for them. It was a smart business move and, regardless of whether or not they're Disney, they're a company and they have to make smart business choices, and this was one.
BTW, Jeff, have you ever noticed how on the ball most of us Buzzers are? Although there are the notable exceptions, we've got it pretty well together, don't you think? Are you ever impressed by this?
