Coasters- a little slice of heaven

Is this a flying dutchman coaster like Stealth and Batwing or a different "breed" of coasters???? It does look relatively short but if it is a flying dutchman, i think it would still be an awsome ride!

This is pretty cool,but when you think about it would you actually be wanting to hang from a coaster going up a lift hill??????:(
Sorry B&M fans but I for one would rather be flipped into a flying position at the top of a lift hill,I really feel it just adds to the excitement.:)

From looking at the 3d renderings, I think SW5 will take Stealth and X to the next level. The renderings look awesome. It's been rumored that this flying design would be used on a new Superman flying coaster in the U.S. The park that is supposed to get one of these new babies would either be one of the following: SFGAM, SFMW, SFEG, or SFFT. Hopefully, one of these flying babies will come to the U.S. in 2002.

I wouldn't be suprised if SFMM got one og these in 2002, or CP. But according to the pictures of the trains, the trains will only have 6 cars like stealth. Is that true, or will they have 8 cars just like every other B&M's?

That isn't the original lay-out.B&M already released some desings and they don't look like it.And where is the corkscrew and the loop that Alton Towers and B&M said it will have??This lay-out was also on Http://www.themepark.nl.I've ask John Wardley about it and he said that this is a fake lay-out.

i know this is a stretch to WAY back there... but Mikeman, how can you compare two coasters that 1)haven't been built, and 2) you haven't ridden either way

First, they are both trying to achieve a "flying position" from the drawings of both which I know I haven't ridden. I wasn't trying to be negative at all they both look cool. I just think that the Arrow 4D has more possibilities (from the drawings). I love coasters just as much as the next guy and look forward to ridding them both. Second, If you knew anything about business they are kinda the same thru industry competition. Both Arrow and B&M are trying to do different spins on the "flying" coaster becasue one their competitors has the Stealh, X-Flight, & Batwing already in production. Third, can't we all just get along and talk about what we love (coasters).

Can I remind you all that Those Drawings are NOT the orginal Layout, The person who made them admits they are his idea as to how the ride will look.
Also, I think you all know this ride will have a World First element and it has been confirmed, but we just dont know what it will be. All we know about it is this what John Wardley said

"when you ride it, you will know its a world first" judgeing by that comment, its obvisous thats its something in the ride experience itself and maybe not a world first inversions, oh well we will find out next year, No Dought I will be there opening day:)

Europe does not get all the cool coasters!! We get B&M's experiments, but look at all the ride lengths. These are prototypes, so that now B&M know these ideas work, they can build huge versions that only USA parks such as Six Flags/ Busch/Paramount/Disney etc can afford. Have any of you seen the ride selections at SF Holland, or Belgium??- They're crap. Have you seen the actual rides at Blackpool, Alton, .....they're all so much smaller and tamer than coasters in USA. I toured California and Vegas last year, you guys don't know how good U got it!!! OK, we got a better Space Mountain than you, and we got Oblivion. We got the longest-untill recently- The Ultimate at lightwater Valley, but don't get excited, most of the ride is racing over a golf course about 3 ft off the bunkers, its ride time is helped by the painfully slow lifts too!!! Name a major coaster in Europe, and ther'll BE A BETTER usa EQUIVALENT!!

The biggest coaster that we have in Denmark is a Vekoma boomerang. I'm dead that day we'll get a B&M man!

Europe does have some cool coasters, but I'll absolutely agree that the US has the best coasters period. As for the flying thing if you're attached to a track you're not really flying. Still it's exciting to see another take on the concept.

Going way back to the "long ride vs. short ride" debate, it doesn't matter about the length of the ride but what does matter is the ride quality and the thrill level. Though there aren't HUGE heights gained there is a lot to be said for hurtling underground into darkness or headding towards a wall of earth. Nemesis prooved this to me. No immensely high, not incredibly long but themed to perfection with cleverly desidned terrain. I have never been as scared as going over the crest of a lift-hill to see the track go the oterh way, it just sdidn't make sense, I was so used to up and down, the fact that the ride then has the land drop from beneath it then flick you over in a corkscrew also messed my head up.
With short and terrifying you get the better experience, too much time on a lift hill can really ruin a ride. Yeah you get the anticipation when you crest the top but it's just the same as any other ride.

Ok, I has a small question... from the perspective of the NEmesis lift hill where is *AIR* situatied? Is it behind as you go up the lift hill, infront, or to the right? I remember the Beast from when I first went but that was a VERY long time ago and it's all changed so much. I just can't get things straight in my head! IF someone chould just say, or even for the benefit of our friends who've never been to Alton Towers maybe a map/drawing with it marked would be nice.

I'm just so confused!
