Titan opening day photos posted to SFoT Coasternet

Titan looks like an awosme coaster! I haven't ridden Goliath yet but i will this July! Titan looks more intense though and the first hleix looks awsome! If i had the chance to pick between the two on which one to ride, it would Titan! Too bad I live in Cali.

Does Titan brake the hell out of you at the block breaks like Goliath? Thats the main reason I don't like Goliath as much as I should. Right after the major air time on the camel back and slam! Big Brakes. Also Goliath needs that extra 600 ft becasue it is too short. Some more bunny hills or another helix at the other end would have been nice.

And lucky for me I live here in Arlington. I will be taking my first ride on Titan in about half an hour. Those photos look awesome, but what's even more awesome is the fact that I live only a few miles away from SFoT. I'll post back and let you know my impressions of the ride.

The brakes on Titan are slightly lighter than on Goliath, but not by much. Sorry if it ruins the ride for some people, but I'm sure the park would rather this than lawsuits from people passing out. The Gs on the final helix are pretty sustained.

VICTORY!!!! I have rode the TITAN for the first time about an hour ago. I was blown away by the sheer power and speed of the first drop, and that's to say nothing of the view from the top of the first hill. I chose to take my first ride at night as opposed to day because of the outstanding view. It was breathtaking to say the least, I could see downtown Dallas and the surrounding areas. Also, it was the first time that I had seen the Texas Giant from that angle and hight. I'll have to admit that it seemed less imposing when seen from atop the Titan, AWESOME!!

Oh yeah.....I almost forgot about the rest of the ride. Now let's see....how can I put this....UBELIEVEABLE!!!! The first helix was an extraordinary experiance with head chopping effects and tight G's. The bunny hop right before the first helix was a ton of fun. The latter half of the ride was an experiance unto itself with the final helix nearly rendering me unconscious. Overall, this has got to be greatest coaster I have ever been on. And lucky me I've got a season pass so I'm headed back tomorrow morning for more. I'll be spending all day and night at SFoT riding Titan like crazy.

Oh, and one last thing, Titan moves lines like mad! I swear I wasn't standing still for more than a few seconds at a time while waiting in line. Does Goliath moves lines that quickly?

Well, better get some sleep, gotta BIG day tomorrow.

Titan's midcourse brakes engage slightly, but aren't as necessary since the upwards helix bleeds off quite a bit of speed. It's more of a light tap and then boom down the diving turn you go. It's comparable to the brakes on Superman Krypton Coaster before the dive into the corkscrews. I don't think it distracts from the ride at all, especially considering how powerful the centrifuge is at the end of the ride.

Titan was great. Media day was excellent.

I'm sure it's a great coaster but did anyone notice the wood queue fencing? I think it looks really nice, but I would be concerned that it's too easy to go under the fencing and cut the line.

Titan totally rocks. I went on it twice Saturday, and let me tell you, I have never been on a coaster even close to this!! The two helices are amazing, and the first drop, second drop, and airtime hill are all incredibly exhilarating. Plus, the que provides some great visuals of the ride, and it never stops moving.

The wood queue fencing has lots of barbed wire tying it together (sans the barbs).
