G5 in Taiwan(WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

My god, the drop goes straight down, the second in the world but what really caught my attention was that the cars sit 8 people across. Is that not unbelievable or what. I thought 4 across was amazing when Iron Wolf debuted. They need to make a coaster like this in the U.S.. This ride in Taiwan is another B&M masterpiece.

That is what CP needs more than anything else. Seeing as there are none in the USA. I would like to be sitting in one of the seats on the ends; just hanging in the air with no track beneath you. WOW

I'd be happy if they parked one at any location in the states. I do wonder if it's a one-trick pony, though. Any riders from the UK or tourists who would like to comment?

Apparently, it's a mirror-image, and the dive doesn't go underground.

If they made a mirror image of it here in the states I would be happy considering the majority of us dont escape the borders. Taiwan and the U.K. are not in most peoples vacation plans.

I would like to say that I have been on one but from what I see these coasters just don't offer that much of a thrill for the price that they cost I would much rather see B&M builing more floorless and especially some more Launched thrillers like the Hulk.

Think of it as B&M's version of a frefall ride, just like the new Intamin frere-falls and the power tower type rides. I'd wait an hour to ride Power tower, and I would wait an hour to ride a Dive machine

Well anyways, I see England's a better place to ride coasters, Taiwan is a pipe dream for me. I'm with Twolf, I'd take a floorless or inverted over that ride, but curiousity takes over...are they really that intense?? Who here has ridden Oblivion??? How was it??

There's nothing like a woodie...

I have ridden Olivion and it is AMAZING. I live in the UK and i visit Alton Towers quit alot.
Oblivion may be a short ride but its one hell of ride, the track falls into a pitch black hole. I have never been on anything as scary as this, the adrenalin rush is so amazing you come of it buzzing, the best bit is when you get held over the edge and all you can do is look down around 100ft into a misty black hole. The first time i went i qued for an hour and a half, the ride lasted around a minute. When i got off i was quite willing to get back in that very long que.

So yes oblivion is very intense and its well worth the wait. And G5 is a mirror of Oblivion but doesn't fall into a hole.

So if any of yall Americans come to the UK make sure you go to Alton Towers because not only it has Oblivion but it also has Nemesis.

If you look at photo 6 of G5 on the ultimaterollercoaster site it sure looks like it falls into a hole.
