Supports arrive for X at Magic Mountain

About four, yellow supports have been spotted at Six Flags Magic Mountain for X. More land clearing continues to go on, and it shouldn't be long before vertical construction on Deja Vu starts. Check out the shots at ACN.

Is it just me, or are SFMM's coasters moving at a snails pace? I can see Deja Vu open by April, but X? Um... August maybe?

I thought that the original press release said that 'Vu; would be open for "season opening", 'X' Later in the spring.

I don't think they were every trying to get both open for the first day of teh new season. The advantage of having an all year park.

Yes, X will be opening later on in the year, I think they predicted like late June or middle of July. Of course, it's a first of it's kind, so I'm expecting a little bit of a delay in opening due to testing and what not, although I'm hoping for it to go smoothly. Anyways, peace. :)

The reason that construction is going so slow is that all of X's track is going to be transported to the park in over 200 semi trucks. *** This post was edited by matt1080 on 2/4/2001. ***

As opposed to having it flown in? How else would it get there?

Hey StewDawg; if you go to the SFMM website and look at the schedule for summer of 2002, and probably anything later than December of this year, it appears that the Mountain is closed. I'm sure it's because they just don't have the schedule up, and this is why Pink is thinking they'll be closed.

x will take a while to build because it is a new track type. Arrow wont want to rush things because then there would be a great margin of error. If x was sloppy then Arrow's ego would take a serious hit. Just be patient people, it will be worth the wait!

Funny.... I live 20 min from MM and I want nothing more than to visit Orlando. Magic Mountain is always closed weekdays during the winter, why close it during the summer? Sounds like a mistake, I know they are themeing the park in 2002 but they wouldnt dare close it during the summer.
