Six Flags purchases Enchanted Village

Well, they want to make more money, so that means we will see new rides to bring in more people to spend more money. There you go NorthWest Coast Thrillseekers!

It probally won't get a Six Flags name change until the end of next year, or the following.

Enchanted Village is in a pretty good location, access-wise, and that's a SERIOUSLY underserved market. Smart move by Six Flags. It'll be interesting to see how much money Six Flags throws at the park, and how long before it becomes "Six Flags Northwest"

It seems to me the reason that the Pacific Northwest is a weak market for theme/amusement parks is we don't have very many parks to begin with and the few coasters that we have are smaller rides.With Enchanted Village proposing to build two large coasters,and now with Six Flags taking over,things should only get better for us Pacific Northwest coaster fans.However,I hope this does'nt endanger the survival of our smaller parks,such as Oaks park here in Portland,OR or the PNE Playland in Vancouver,BC.The wooden coaster at the PNE is a must ride for any coaster fan,it is superb!

The Bloomberg site mentions Six Flags having 549Million dollars in revenue this past year. Does anyone know how much Cedar Fair made in revenue? Thank you.

I think part of the reason the Northwest is so underserved is because it rains all the time up there.

The reason Six Flags got 549 million was the won a court case against time warner.

I would hardly try to compare Six Flags to Cedar Fair. Cedar Fair has 5 parks plus a few water parks whereas, Six Flags has more than forty. That was two years ago. I don't know how many more parks they have acquired since then.

Did I campare the two together?? I'm just curious to see how productive Cedar Fair is with 5 parks, compared to Six Flags.....style of running 40 some parks. Thanks

I am glad Six Flags purchased this park. A few years ago, Six Flags purchased Riverside amusement park, now know as Six Flags New England. By doing this they restored a once great amusement park, adding new high-tech thrills and preserving the older classics that still provide great thrills. I dont see why people are outraged about this! Six Flags is restoring classic parks w/ great thrillers. The are doing the world a faver! DUH!

I'd hardly say they are doing the world a favor, however I am glad they purchased this particular park. Like SFMW, I hope they can combine what was great about the park to begin with, and the Six Flags treatment which should include some awesome new rides. And keep the bobsled coaster, it's a lot of fun!

Yeah it's annoying how Six Flags has its name all over the place. I get so confused over which park is which. Is there a Six Flags Elitch (How do you spell?) Gardens?

At least they install the latest rides. Like SFO.

I will agree that changing so many parks to the Six Flags brand may not be the greatest thing, but, I'm very happy with the rides that we've gotten at Six Flags America since the name change.

After working at cedar point for 4 years then moving to seattle i really miss the real rollercoasters i'm glad somebody bought enchanted village maybe we'll get some real rides.

Wow, this is big news! Enchanted Village is a really nice little park. I went to Enchanted Village in June 2000 with relatives who lives near Enchanted Village. I live in Winston-Salem, NC, by the way.

The problem with Six Flags is that they have soo many parks, and they forget a bunch of them.

Also, all they do is put the same rides in each park and only having a FEW original rides in each park.

They spend to much time with SFMM too... they give it too much and leave out other parks. I mean look they got a hyper last year and already we know they are getting a 180ft. tall boomerang.. maybe even more!....

IMO they only built SFO to take away people from CP but that is only my Opinion... I like SFO and the rides there.

I think this is pretty kewl, and hopefully Six Flags will blend in regional culture while building this park. And for those of you who think it rain too much in the NW, for us to have a park....PA rains just as much as it does here, and it is the Amusement Park Capital.

I am in my second season working for enchanted village and all I can say is Six Flags buying our small park was the best thing that could happen. We are looking forward to an exiting season with new Hi-Tech rides.

Does anyone know when they will add coasters and stuff to become six flags?
The closest park to us now, is Sacramento,a days drive. Seattle is 31/2 hour drive. I think that six flags buying Enchanted Village will turn an already good park into a great park.
