IAAPA 2000: Premier's Flights of Fear will be "different"

Actually film4ever is right. Paramount couldn't renew their rights to the Outer Limits name, so they're taking the "Outer Limits" name off of the coaster and they are calling it "Flight of Fear". If you want proof, go to http://www.pki.com/attractions_rides.jsp and look for the ride's new name. PKI's website has it. The park announced it after the 2000 season.

The new Arrow restraints look divine to me. Can't believe it's taken someone that long to come up with the idea. I hear they're quite comfortable, too.

Just to clarify...since this whole thing started with a comment I made...

We DON'T KNOW what is going to happen to that ride. I did learn some interesting things yesterday that have happened to that ride (notably the replacement of all the LIMs with LIMs from another manufacturer when the controls were re-done). We know that the park has made significant changes to the ride since it was constructed including changes in the track, the motors, and the controls. I've long speculated that the trains are not quite what the designer originally intended. In any case, there is evidence that the park has made a committment to fixing this ride, pretty much no matter what it takes.
Some of us think we know what the ride needs. The comment from the Premier engineer suggests that for next year, something will be done, but we have no idea what. We don't even know for certain that the change has anything to do with the restraint problem, although I had indicated that it was the one thing I didn't like about the ride. It could just as easily have been a reference to the fact that the rides will *look* different next season because they aren't O____ L_____ anymore.

I'd rather be riding
Not just any feaver, Roller Coaster Feaver.

I didn't see it when I went through here for the news on it, but I thought I'd make it known about Paramount's both bad equipment in FoF, and Bad buisness practices...While I was working there in 97 (and before anyone thinks it, no this isn't revenge I just think people should know) the ride had so many breakdowns, the employees held a pool on weather or not it would be up on a given day. One of the times it broke down, mid day, mid way through the ride, leaving an entire set of passengers, stranded, upside down, for 3 hours. As if hanging upside down isn't bad enough, when they got off Paramount gave them their money back...in cheesy merchendise....of the ride they were stuck on for 3 hours... Now I ask you...would you call that a bad idea? I do. But, to quote Densis miller, thats just my opinion, I could be wrong
