Well, I have never actually hurt my neck, but I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. When you go down over the lake it is a flat section of the ride as you watch the other train pummeling towards you. You can't help but to lean your head forward to see it, when all of a sudden you are ripped upwards and through the vertical loop, and your neck gets thrusted down. I just remind myself to keep my head back right before the loop. On a side note, that head to head race to the loops is one of the best parts of the ride.
