ETA was 5PM...Starlight action baby!

It was only a 30 minute drive from my aunt's place on Johnson's Island/middle of Sandusky Bay.

UBER BUSY!!!!!

First ride was Corkscrew...30 minute wait, eww...

Magnum next, the same wait time as Corkscrew...ugghhh to China Grove....that meant Sweet Home Alabama would follow :(

On to Mean Streak...I've official changed my 'MS isn't painful' policy

Very expensive frozen sugar water!!!! (soft serve in frontier land)

Millennium Force...scents of Panda Express in the air = amazing...

Dark scary skies in Mantis queue...The rain held off though (First night time Mantis ride...minus the cauliflower ear, its great!!)

Power Tower - dOWN...Inside is a freakier experience IMO

TTD at 10pm...Rollback at 10:20, 15 minute delay..."Mechanical problem" at 10:40...Boarded black cherry train at 11:30...

Bugs are no good...

30 minute drive back to Marblehead for some brews at the Windjammer!

No. :( The group I went with didn't want to wait...but they had no problem with the 90 minute TTD queue...I don't 'get' some people!

If you're gonna wait for one coaster, why not wait for the others? I don't get some people either. :) Were YOU on the rollback? I was bummed because I missed a Kingda Ka rollback by two trains on Friday night.

The rollback on Saturday was about 40 minutes in front of me, so no.

I've never been on a rollback...and am actually wondering how to increase the odds of experiencing one...Any suggestions???

I have heard that early morning is more likely for a rollback, as the trains are not as warmed up, and also if you go when it's chilly. They happen less and less frequently, apparently.

Try getting one of the first rides after it goes down for repair. I've noticed that it seems to roll back more frequently at those times.

I went to KI with some folks and they thought 15 minutes for Vortex was too long a line.

I was there Sunday and waited for it to reopen after it was down earlier in the day and got it open and the first few trains barely made it over. The few times ive ridden TTD over the years no roll back and this year i have 3 now.

On Sunday TTD had a flashback to 2004, it was down more then it was up. Thankfully, I did snag a ride. The park was not too crowded, managed to hit Raptor twice with a less then 30 min wait midday (I would not be surprised if Raptor joined Magnum as rides that no longer have a long line with the next new coaster.)

I also managed a personal best on my Magnum Marathon, 6 times in 40 min at closing, thanks to some single riders in my favorite row, the crew kicking butt, and having ride 6 be the last train of the night (which I only care about because that meant that I got on 6 times instead of 5.)

idk, Rapter was out of the queue line on Sat., which means, at the minimum, an hour and a half wait...

Plus with it's location right next to the midway, entrance right under a visually amazing hill and potential development by DT/WT, i don't see it getting shorter anytime soon

^Not too many years ago, during the summer the best you could really hope for with Raptor was an hour wait midday, the last couple times I have been at the park, that wait has been halved. It still has long lines in the morning, but after that its short (I also noticed on my way out at 10:30 that it had finished for the night.) It reminds me a lot of what Magnum was like in 1999.

Also remember, park attendance has been flat recently, if you build a new ride but about the same amount of people come each day, that means that all those people who will fill that coaster line with the standard 2-3 hour wait have to be pulled from somewhere.

Hmmmm...I guess i see your point...

I just haven't experienced a short wait at all yet this year, and I've gone 10+ times

Well when you go on Saturday, nothing is a short wait ;).

I haven't waited for Raptor more then 45 min this whole year (visited 5 times.)

If a new coaster was built in place of DD & DT, I think the Mantis/MF lines would be affected more than Raptor

So, how are the lines on Sundays and Mondays? I'm hoping to get some good riding in when I go.

And now for a non insulting answer:

No one really knows for sure, due to all the variables, but Sunday and Monday are usually less crowded then Saturday. Use your PP benifits to hit Maverick and MF during ERT, and be in line for TTD a few minutes before 10. That way you get 3 out of 4 of the "long waits" done by 10:30/45. Once you are done with TTD, start a loop around the triangle, hitting up Power Tower, Widcat, Iron Dragon, Mantis, etc. Then once you have done that, start doing the main midway rides holding out on Raptor until late afternoon (3-5) as it has much shorter waits then.

Rephpt, excuse me?? What is your damage? I joke around about being heavy, but I assure you, I'll have no problem fitting on either one of those rides. And why would my husband be crazy for not cheating on me? That's a horrible thing to say. You can go ahead and bite me.
