Are any other parks using Twitter?

Raven Maven

We just started the other day.

I'm writing a news release about it and didn't want to claim we're the first theme or amusement park to Twitter unless, well, it's true. (I know, what a concept.)

Thanks, Paula

Not sure if you are the first, but I'm very excited. I happen to love Twitter. Alot of people find it to be completely annoying.

Looks like you have dove right in, updating all the time! Kudos.

Oh, believe me, I plan on being totally annoying. (Just ask my kids!) :)

Thanks, Paula

^I thought you were supposed to *embarrass* your children? Shows what I know... ;)

I sure haven't HEARD of any other parks using Twitter, Paula...actually, this is the first I've heard of it at all...and I'm supposedly an IT person... :)

You could never be annoying Paula! ;)

I'm excited to get back to HW again this year. I thought I wasn't going to be able to, but we have a family reunion planned in June that's a little over an hour away. I just couldn't be that close and not come to the park! Voyage here I come!

I'm giving a shot at PointBuzz. I'm not necessarily a fan of the site in general, but I think it may have some validity in our little niche. I can see it being useful to create a network for park or web site updates, but I doubt I'll post anything outside of that narrow focus.

Today I am officially old.

I don't get you damn kids and the point of all the twittering you do. ;)

I suppose if there's any park in the world that people feel the need to stay hyper-connected to that it's certainly Hoilday World. :)

...

...and stay off my lawn!

Gonch ... exactly how old are you? I've got you by at least a decade, don't I?

Paula - I turned 35 a couple weeks ago.

My goal is to get old before my time. Looks like I'm well on my way.

When I was a young'un, I used to have to lock my bedroom door if I planned on twittering.

...or at least go to the bathroom. ;)

Exactly. You get it.

What I'm really looking forward to is, after a storm, posting which coaster reopens first.

Oh, and Gonch -- as of 17 days from now, I've got you by 1.5 decades.

But you are definitely ahead of me on the crotchety scale. :)

...once the season starts parks who do this can update guests about weather conditions, crowd levels, what is closed or not at the time, and if people are subscribed with RSS on their phones, can even get updates to shows or events taking place while at the park.

Now you're speaking my language! :)

Well, I am competitive and do like to win. Why would this be any different?

I'll take 'most crotchety' :)

...

(Hehe - you said crotch.)

I'm more competitive.

Hands down.

I'd call you more ambitious than competitive.

That doesn't necessarily make you the most ambitious though. ;)

(Here we go...) What makes me more ambitious than competitive?

Once again, I believe you're confused. :)
