Magnum XL-200

Hey all... I'm doing a statistical regression project on Magnum XL-200. On the Cedar Point website there is ridership from 1996-present. Does anyone know where/if there is a place where I can get the rest of the riderships from 1989-1996?

hahah... Yeah... It just might be that they didn't really care about ridership until late 90's. It's all good, I'll try to find something.. Thanks though

It was #2 in 1990, behind Gemini.

I meant the stucture, not the coaster's ratings. Maggie has a special place in my heart. She was the first coaster I rode at CP.

Lake Erie, along with all the other Great Lakes, is supposed to drop in water level over the next four decades. So if anything, Magnum is rising.

As scary as that is, at least Cedar Point can finally expand. :)

Come on guys, everyone knows that Cedar Point is going to build the first underwater coaster....

We will see how much that estimate changes after this winter, where most of the Great Lakes States got more (if not a record more) amount of snow. I live in Perrysburg, and in February the Maumee River was very close to being taller then the bridges that span it and had already "spilled" into the river shore on both sides.

The great lakes have only been shrinking since the glaciers that once came down to MORAINE ohio (Just above Dayton) have been receding.

Millennium Force does seem to be getting rougher over the years, maybe it's just the speed of the ride combined with age?

^^ Actually that's true in part. The Great Lakes are also getting shallower from the bottom up. The earth under the lakes was compressed by having miles of ice above it, and has been rebounding upward gradually over the millenia.

However, those are relatively slow phenomena. What I was talking about was the loss of water volume due to global warming. Warmer summers will cause more rapid evaporation off the lake surfaces. Warmer winters will result in less ice cover for shorter spans, allowing more evaporation even during the cold season. The upshot is that according to models released last year, Lake Erie is predicted to lose 16% of its area by 2050. If I remember correctly the other lakes were expected to lose some number approximate to that.

If Lake Erie looses 16% of it's water, that'll mean a couple more acres for CP to use.

Why can't CF just "create" more land, like The Palms and The World in Dubai??

I mean, last time I checked, nature (and especially trees!) don't have nuthin' on Cedar Fair!!....they can pave Lake Erie if they wanna!

The "Grrenies" will have a fit because it'll be disrupting the natural carp habitat. Plus, Eire is a shipping lane.

You could still have ferry's (or a high-speed tram) to connect the two properties...of course, at this rate, CP closing is almost more likely.

I was just talking to a friend about this ride and how much I would love to ride it. They always show it in the Top 10 Coasters special when it comes on Travel Channel. The first drop is huge but it can't beat my Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

There's penty of hidden land at CP. There's enough room for at least two more coasters. They could decrease the size of the lot. They could weave a coaster through magnum or thet could instal one of Intamin's ball coasters.
