V2 at SFGAm

well I just got back and am really tired. I had a lot of fun, but don't want to post a whole trip report. anyway as I got off Batman near the end of the day, I noticed V2 was test running. or at least it was trying to. I didn't see the whole thing, but it climbed about 1/8 of the twisted spike before stopping outside the station. nothing big, but still exciting. perhaps it will be open next weekend when I go
Well, I just got back today from the park. Well, I did see V2 try to run. I think they have it set up so it doesn't hit the brake strain yet. (my oppioun)I could be wrong though. I don't really know. Well, I went up to the concession stand and I was told Deja Vu was going to be open before V2, I was thinking if that was possiable, I was thinking she might have been thinking of the wrong roller coaster. I think v2 will be opening memoral day weekend, as said the guy who helps with shockwave. It was great fun though. The only thing I didn't really like was that the park is 1 complete cicle now. Jezz, It's so hard to get around now. My friend's and I were thinking we were going to Demon and we ended up on the wrong side. It was very weird. Did anybody who went on May 5th waited in the Viper line? It looked long so, we didn't go on it. Well, we had fun, hope those that went did too... Oh, Did it seem that the park is working a little harder on the themeing? It seemed like they were.
hey does anyone have that footage of testing or the photos of testing? if you do please write a link on the post.
YEA!!!

Viper was my first coaster this season!

V2 'testing' was sweet!! I was so excited :)

I don't wanna write a TR, but it was nice.
But I don't have any pics or movies, but it was great!!

The park painted many things, including (it looks like coasters) and many new games and shop buildings. The park is looking better than ever!!

PS: Better change my sig ;)

May 5th, Gurnee, Illinois, "I'm sprinting for V2. Damn...not open yet. I'm the only one standing here."
I just got home from SFGAm also, today was the first day that I went for opening day...WOW, I have a season pass but I had to wait inline for a 1/2 off ticket for my friend that took forever. I personally like the fact the park is in one big circle, the only thing that kind of sucks is you have to walk back in a dead end now to get to Demon. I didn't wait in line for VIPER way to long...the only coaster I didn't go on today. American Eagle was great they actually tried to race them...(RED won when I was riding). I love Iron wolfs new restraints, and I looked like Batman had new restraints? Maybe not...Shockwave had a big line during the day but not at night- Funny story about Iron Wolf...We were in the line and they said over the speaker that the ride was going to stop...(the restraints were stuck) and they probably say this 2 times..the 3rd time EVERYONE in the line starts to leave...and then about 30 secs later the guy annoces that the ride is "working" So we ran up to the front seat...But I did kind of appear as though they had some opening day ride mantance problems...any one know what I'm talking about...AND I did see V2 towards the end of the day...Looks really cool...can't wait to ride it!
Too bad I didn't stay till closing. I wish I could have seen V2 testing. I bet it was exciting seeing V2 testing for the first time.

2 for 1 in 2001:SFGAm all the way!!
2002:CPs year 2 rule!
I assume V2 will be ready by May 20?
I don't have pics or video of the testing, sorry. I was one of the people waiting in line for Viper, though. they didn't have the queueing pen open so it wasn't too bad. Batman did look like it had new trains as well as Shockwave and Demon (though I think I remember Demon having new trains last year, maybe not). Shockwave was running pretty fast compared with previous years. I was in line for Giant Drop when I first saw Eagle racing (sadly I rode it earlier in the day). it did seem as though the theming was better this year. but then again yesterday was the first time that I saw all of Batman's theming. usually I go when no body's there and I don't have to wait in line and miss all the theming.
I wish I could have gone, but I just couldn't make it. From what I'm hearing, the park is looking really good. I'm sure V2 will test everyday for the next two weeks, maybe three weeks. Deja Vu should be done within two weeks at the most. I can't wait until I get to the park.

Deja Vu, and V2, what more can you want? SFGAm #1
I read a report on RRC that a construction worker told someone that it will open Wednesday. I know this seems odd that it would open on a day of non-operation, but that date might be reffering to a media day. I think Raging Bull had it's media day in the middle of the week also. I'll be at SFGam next week regardless.
Did you by chance look at the station and see how it's not complete? Well, I talked to the opperater of ShockWave and he'll be working on the coaster when it does open. The next question I asked "when will v2 be open" He said "there shooting for memorial day weekend." This toltally makes sense. I mean theres going to be alot of people this weekend, a perfect time for a huge 4 hour line (I'm probably wrong) to occur. I mean wouldn't it make sense? I think it does. I will wait in any line to get on v2. It looks so fun. I love the trains. Did anybody see them? There so cool looking.

Actually, it tested for the first time earlier in the week.
speaking of deja vu I noticed that the cable lift was on the track. I don't know if I've just not been noticing it or if it was put on for the first time yesterday, but it was sitting there in the middle of the station just waiting to pull a train up the vertical tower. very cool, but at 4.5 g's it might too intense to be fun.
come on guys, get some pix up that you took yesterday! i cant wait to see what the most recent construction looks like. :)
Anyone have any pics yet?
