While it always looked like a unique coaster, from all I've heard over the years...this is definitely a good thing!

I'm happy to see rides are being repainted. Few things are more unsightly than a huge coaster covered with faded/greasy/rusting paint. It's pretty much like a limo pulling up all covered in road salt or mud. The mess gives the wrong impression.

Jeff touches on something that I've long complained about- red coasters. I have nothing against the color red but I don't see why so many parks have so many coasters painted that color, especially because it's very likely to fade. Morey's Piers had to repaint the Great Nor'easter every few years (it was an odd coral color) before realizing it needed to be white so the sun and salt air wouldn't ruin it a few months later.

The pigment in the color red has a tendancy to oxidize real easily, look at any bright red car that hasn't been taken care of. Most of the remaining red cars from the 80's either look like they did when purchased due to emaculate care or they look pink...

Clearcoat seems to be effective when it comes to maintaining pigment. Why aren't coasters finished with a clearcoat? Wouldn't it make sense to spend more money and get more years out of the paint?

No, I didn't hear that. That's odd since it looked fine last year. I assume it has something to do with the coaster being "reborn" with the new seats?

yeah, they want to give it a new name and a new paint scheme would go with that.

Looks like Thomas Town has been delayed to a Summer opening instead of Spring.

Freefall's vehicles have been removed from the attraction. Looks like it'll come down within the next couple of months.

Tunnel lights on the long SBNO monorail turned on? Will Metro finally return? (Highly doubtful) ;)

The newly repainted Viper reopened this weekend.

I actually don't get the new color scheme of X, I LOVED the shiny and bright looks it had before.
Oh well....
It might be a matter of taste, but if there is something that Magic Mountain has, it is great sunlight to reflect off of brightly painted coasters.
Tatsu, Revolution, Scream and Goliath all look fantastic in the desert sunshine.

Goliath Jr. will be transformed into Percy the Small Engine for Thomas Town.

The trains will be completely reworked to look like Percy pulling a trail of coaches and the ride will be repainted with green and red trim.

Not to hijack this thread but we are thinking of going to SFMM in June and was wondering if it's possible to ride all the coasters in 1 day.

^ In the past, it would definitely be a challenge to ride all the park's coasters. But now that they have made keeping all attractions open a priority, it should make it easier.

But the timing of your visit also effects whether or not you can do it. The park begins to get very busy after Memorial Day Weekend and queue wait times for the most popular coasters can get as long as 2 1/2 hours.

Your best bet would be to purchase Flash Pass to ensure that you maximize your time at the park.

Also, I would recommend a counter-clockwise movement around the park's layout instead of just hopping from random ride to ride. It saves you a lot of walking time.

I have to say I never had a problem riding everything in the park in one day - normally, I would make all the rides and then get additional rides on each ones I liked best.
X was an exception for a while, but in the last 2 years even that wasn't a problem.
Then again, I was only in the park about 1-2 times a year recently, so I might just have gotten lucky.
