I love it too - fantastic ride. I've yet to ride Maverick to compare but otherwise I'd personally consider it the best coaster in Cedar Point.

I love Wicked Twister. On other rides i usually just get super pumped and i yell a lot and whatever, but on wicked twister i get giddy, for lack of better terms. Its a short ride, but i never wait anymore than 10 mins to ride.
Impulses are good stuff.

It really surprised me. I'm not a huge fan of going backwards (I hate any boomerang), but I loved WT when I went to Cedar Point.

I think its "under rated" cause there are enough of these impulse rides around that most of us have ridden something very similar.

I echo the love here - WT is one of my absolute favorites at CP, and if I had the time to spare, I'd have to say I could spend a whole day riding this thing. The back row rocks, and that second trip up the back spike is insane.

I think this ride is great! It is definitely not my favorite at CP, Millie is, but it is always a good past time ride considering it has no line EVER! It gets old after a while, but people never realize that you want to go for the back! Actually, the second to last seat is the best, yo swing out at the top of the spiral and there is nothing but ground below you! It's really fun.... it also has a great view of the beach and the not-being-used dive show arena

I've never been on Steel Venom at GL but have been on SV at Valleyfair! and Vertical Velocity at SFGAm. I find Wicked Twister to be a more forceful and powerful ride. One major difference is that there is a brake hold on the second time up the back spike. It's certainly an interesting feeling but I think I prefer the back spike twisted.

I have asked politely, and I was politely offered the back row, but no one has allowed me to wait in the second last row. I guess some people are just lucky. I understand that they don't want the center of the train to go out empty, but there are usually plenty of people who don't care where they sit and will wander into an empty queue.
A lot of us this summer were actually trying to recommend that second to last row to many people. Most of the time, we wouldn't ever have a problem with a couple trains of people in line for the first and last couple rows. We didn't want a ton of people in line for that second to last row, but we never really had much of a problem with a few extra people.
..That, of course, is when we actually had crowd, which wasn't very often this summer. ;)

Well it's at Cedar Point.... I mean, that place breeds quite a few worshippers hehehe :) I loved the place, worked there, but after the Blue Streak, I'm never in a hurry to get there. I was there for CoasterMania '00, it was a joke.

While I can somewhat agree with you, I just believe the money that CP invested in this ride was so low compared to most of their rides. Because of this, people just never had that immense desire to conquer Wicked Twister like we all do when they build a monster like MF. I believe it is looked at as a Flat Ride more than a coaster by many people and so it doesnt get very much attention.
Top 5, in no particular order: 1. MF 2. Maverick, 3. Kraken 3. El Toro, 4. TTD 5. Superman Krypton Coaster
Top overrated coasters: 1. Incredible Hulk (Boooooring!) 2. Nitro 3. Expedition G-force 4.
Goliath(SFMM) 5. Any Dive Coaster

While I do enjoy it, I think the ride is a bit overrated sometimes. It's alright but it's still just a shuttle. Give me Volcano over WT any day.

I believe its problem is that it was built after Millennium Force, so most park fans were thinking "that's it?" after its announcement. I also don't consider it to be a bad ride at all. The first time I went on it in 2003 I didn't really care for it but I think that's because I had ridden Superman Ultimate Escape, which is far better, the previous evening. I gave it another chance this season and it surprised me. It is definetely a back-seat, I mean second back-seat coaster.

^ Agreed However, SUE is not better than WT. I do like the brakes at the top of the spike though.

I think Steel Venom was the better version of this ride. I think part of the reason it's underrated is because of it's location. It's name is kind of stupid too. Raptor, Millenium, Top Thrill Dragster, and Maverick are all exciting names to me compared to Wicked Twister.
On these rides Intamin Impulse, I always hear from the enthusiasts that they are boring.

I would agree it is underrated because you never hear much about it and i havent seen it on any shows but it is my 3rd favorite ride in the park with Millenium and dragster being above that.
