Question for multiple re-riders

After reading through these posts, I notice a trend of people riding a certain coaster 20 or 30+ times in a row.

Am one of the very few here who do not do this?

The highest number of rides I have had on any one coaster in a single visit are 7 on Skyliner (Lakemont), 6 on Kraken, and 5 on Montu.

When I go to a park I do not usually stay from opening to closing... usually 7 or 8 hours is about all I can handle.

When my wife and I went to Kennywood last year we were there for 7 hours and had a total of 6 coaster rides. Hersheypark... 7 hours 10 coaster rides. IOA... 9 hours 8 coaster rides. BGT... 6 hours 10 coaster rides. Sea World... 6 hours 10 coaster rides (countint JTA).

I suppose if I would get to a park for multiple visits over the course of a given season, I might concentrate more on coasters. But as it is, when I go to a park I like to explore every little corner of it.

I was just wondering how those who do those marathon sessions on coasters see the rest of the park... if you do in fact see the rest of the park.

I've wondered the same thing. Even on light days, I never have the time to get in that many rides. But I like to do all the flat rides I can, and am pretty leisurely about the pace I go through the park.

SLFAKE, I am like you. My wife doesn't like coasters a lot, so I don't like to subject her to multiple rides, long days, etc. We get there by opening always, but usually leave around 5-6 p.m. In fact, the last time I rode a coaster at night was Magnum in 1998, when I went with friends, not my wife, and before that was before we met. :)

Even when I'm not with her, it's hard to reride when you want to ride everything.

I'm perfectly happy to concentrate on the coasters that I like, and I don't care what else is in the park. As an extreme example of this, I go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg primarily to ride Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot, and I would be perfectly happy if that's all that I rode or did there (in spite of everything else BGW offers).

I'm the same way. My record for number of rides in one day is seven rides on Kumba. I usually don't get to visit parks more than once during the season as many of my visits are one-day excursions during vacations that are not dedicated to visiting amusement parks. My homepark is SFNE which is four hours from my house, so when I go, I like to ride everything meaning that I only do an average of three to four rides on a single roller coaster in a given day. If I lived closer to some parks and made regular visits, I would definitely marathon on coasters, but until then, I'm afraid I'm stuck without that kind of experience. ;(

The wife and I only ride coasters at a park so we can usually get in multiple rides on one or more coasters. A typical day for us at SFGAm is to hit all the coasters we like at least once. Then spend the rest of the day riding our 2 favorites: B:TR and Viper. We'll do a couple of rides on one then go to the other. Occasionally we'll throw in a ride on something else but not too often. This way we don't burn out on any one coaster. With waiting in lines we manage about 8-9 rides on each. I don't think I would want to ride only one coaster all day. I really believe I would burn out on that ride no matter how much I like it.

Personally, I've been to CP so many times and go multiple times a year, I love to take a day and just ride the coasters.

I also tend to stick with coasters that I like, and don't do too many rerides. 3 to 4 is about all I can handle. The most I've ever ridden a coaster in one day was at a media preview for Psycho Mouse at PGA, I got about 20 rides in about two hours. My wife and I tend to stay at our home parks about 4 to 5 hours, because we have season passes. Normally when we go together, we take one to two rides on each coaster that we like, and then do some flat rides, eat a little something, then head home. Since we visit our parks so much, that's a good enough time limit. At least for us it is. Peace. :)

I think that the majority of people who do a marathon on a certain coaster are season pass holders. The people who purchase a one day ticket to a park usually want to gather the whole experience. With a season pass, you can do that the first time you go, then concentrate on what you really enjoyed in some/all of your forthcoming visits.

I usually go to the park, and try to focus in the coasters that the parks has, but always ride the water rides, and trying to get the all experience.

i rememeber last year i was in CP and my girlfriend and i saw all the peanuts show, just to take a rest, and i forget to say my girlfriend loves snoppy!! :)

The same in SF and Paramunt, we always take the childrens shows.

Keeping Coaster!!

When I am at a park that I have never visited or rarely visit (non home-park), I will ride all of the roller coasters and try to squeeze in good flat rides and water rides with time. Then, at night, I will re-ride my favorite coaster over and over for an hour or 2 before closing. At my home park, Paramount's Carowinds, I usually ride as many different rides as I can on opening day. During the year I ride my favorites over and over.
