Maybe some valleys? Not likely but if its snowing the rides are going to look tight, but will they open while its snowing?

Are they scrambling for a few more guests to boost their attendance, if only by a thousand or so? Probably not, I am probably wrong in that. But whatever.

Pretty cool, on the 1st open until midnight. Hope you like the cold!

...Or maybe due to a scheduling conflict they were forced to add days at the end? People know how stuff happens where you have to compensate due to a confusion.

It's probably because October ends on a Friday and why not just go until Sunday.

November will be awesome next season! Good idea on their part too. I guess with Halloween on a Friday next year, they were probably just like let's give them that weekend. It'll be sweet!!

The park has always stayed open until the last weekend of October. They count Friday as the weekend and that's the reason for this. It's not as big as a deal as some are making it.

Besides the Nov thing (which is really due to the calendar people) it looks like we get one more week of Halloweekends (8 as opposed to last years 7 and the year before 6) which is a smart move (license to print money) and Halloweekends Sundays lost an hour of operation (11-8 instead of 10-8.)

The other thing I'm surprised at is that Memorial Day and Labor Day Sat the park is not open until 11, but they did this last year too. You would think with the 3 day weekend they would extend the hours a little for the holiday but oh well.

True, Halloween is on that Friday, so that's probably the reason.

Not completely true. The last time the Halloween fall on a Friday (2003) the park was not open.

Up until this year, it's always been the last complete weekend (Fri-Sun) that falls entirely in October.

Here are the same numbers I ran to post on PointBuzz to compare 2007 to 2008...

Total Operating Hours in 2007 (Excluding Joe Cool): 1543
Total Operating Hours in 2008 (Excluding Joe Cool): 1580

Total Operating Days in 2007: 139
Total Operating Days in 2008: 142

Average Number of Operating Hours per Day in 2007: 11.1007
Average Number of Operating Hours per Day in 2008: 11.1267

When just looking at the Operating Days that existed in 2007 (minus the November weekend), the park added 10 hours to it's operating schedule.

As Jeff and others have stated, it's because Halloween falls on a Friday.

Six Flags parks are staying open until Nov 2 as well. I bet any park in the U.S. with a Halloween event is staying open until Nov 2.

So you CP fanboys can stop thinking your park is being special to you. :)

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Doug, you got me there. It's obvious that the industry is seeing the awesome performance Halloween events have had over the past few seasons.
