What is your most painful ride experience?
May 19, 2000... A day that will live in infamy...
3 rides on the Steel Phantom.
Ride 1: front seat. Not bad. Rough, but not all that painful.
Ride 2: Back seat. Rougher than front seat, but still tolerable.
Ride 3: Next to last seat. Pure agony! I think I blacked out at least twice and strained my neck. My wife (then fiance) said she believes she blacked out as well. She had a headache for the rest of the day, and a neck ache for the rest of the week. She said it best... "it threw us around like a cheap [slang for prostitute] on nickle night." No wonder this was a walk on all day while the rest of the coasters featured at least half hour waits.

Agreed, this thing destroyed me as well... very not nice ride :) Seems like your body size often decides how a ride treats you.. a friend of mine went on this thing and didn't get beat up at all, but she's quite a bit smaller.. go figure...
I'm going back to Vegas in two weeks.. so i'll try it again im sure.. I love the inversion into the diving loop, neat element.

I don't really think about pain when i am riding, but Python at BGT, really hurt me, even for how short it was, i was nearly unable to move when i got off. It like ripped out my hair, and killed my head.
Villian- i am really mad that i had a bad experience on this one. It started raining right when we got on, and it was so rough. i don't know why. the rain really hurt my eyes, and i don't even remember the ride. all i really remeber is how badly my legs hurt and the first part of it. or the ride was just all over the place. i really wish that i could have enjoyed this ride in nice conditions because everybody says it was incredible. Don't get me wrong, it was a great woodie, and everything about it was cool, i just had a very painfuol time on it once.
I don't think that Manhatten Express was that bad at all. I really liked the ride. In the back it was pretty shaky, but not at all painfull. In the front row, it was pretty smooth even. I really liked that one and i don't agree with most peoples views about that one at all.
Then on Mantis, i had ridden it like 10 times in a row. and then on the sharp turns, with the high g's my feet really really hurt. like blood vessles popped. really. it was even pretty painful to walk for a while. I really liked that ride but it hurt, although that was the only time it happened.

I don't think Hercules is that bad.
With a little TLC is could run great. The drop and turn are the fun parts of the ride while the rest is slow and boring. Give Hercules a chance. It was great, but still can be fun. I don't think it deserves the bad rep. it gets.

I was really digging Son of Beast the first time I rode it, but the second time, oh my God! Every single foot of track I could feel the train vibrating in my head! I think it was because lots of the rides at PKI beat me up. Millennium Force!! Just kidding. Notice how barely any Intamin or B&M coasters have been mentioned? Hats off to them! I think Vekoma is slight ly improving, I though Face/Off was smooth! Arrow, well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Please remove the old double corkscrew Arrow models!

The Corkscrew at CP really bangs your head around.. ouch!! and if you ride in any third car in the magnum, its a rough ride, but I don't know about any new ride improvements made on it this year so we're just going to have to see about that next saturday!

Seems like they dont have many rough coasters out west right? Almost... if anyone has ever been on Windjammer they will agree that not only is it one of the most brutally painful rides they will ever ride, but the ride doesnt come close to make up for it. All these other parks keep them around, but at a quality park at knotts, where space is at a premium i couldnt be happier that they are taking that ride out.

Shockwave was my most painful experience in the front seat. However, I still like the coaster a lot because the farther you sit back, the less banging there is. I usually sit in the very last seat now because it whips you over the top and you get a considerably higher amount of g's in the loops, it's great!
Surprisingly, I've never had a really terrible ride. I'm 6'3", and around 270 lbs., but I've never been in great pain. Maybe because I "fill" out the seat so well... ;) Horse collars don't bother me, because my head is above the restraint. My shoulders are pretty much presed against the top of them. I usually have to cross my legs on woodies, so the lap bar comes down to my lap, not my knees. The most uncomfortable I've ever been on a ride was probably the Belmont Giant Dipper. It threw me against the sides pretty bad when I rode it.

I have mentioned this before.It was on a Disney ride! Before you call me a sissy, read on.
Right before launch on Rockin' Roller Coaster at Disney, I sorta bent over and looked down and at the floor. Then it lauched. My head wasn't slammed back into the seats, but It pushed my head towards my body, and hurt a lot. Instead of ym head hitting the retraints on the first nversion, my neck slammed side to side in the horsecollar. I had about 3 g forces putting preasure on my neck. Whe I pushed my head back on an un-inverted part, my ears got hit a little. Never have I been more thankful that a coaster isn't really rough. NEVER do this.
